Me: it's cool how this iOS ssh app lets me generate a keypair in the Secure Enclave and auth with FaceID, that makes the private key secure since it can't be extracted :) Also me: I switched to a new phone and my ssh key didn't transfer and I can't login, this is so annoying :(

Last week, macOS 26.7 RC1 leaked stuff about future products, like the home hub and camera-equipped AirPods Pro. Today macOS 26.7 RC2 removed all that... making it even easier to find the leaked stuff by comparing RC1 and RC2 😏

Apple is working on camera-equipped AirPods that appear to be nearly ready to launch, based on a video MacRumors found in the macOS Tahoe 26.7 release candidate. In a short demo, a man holds a book up so the camera in the AirPods can see the title. "With Visual Intelligence, your world becomes savable. See something you like? There is a direct reference to setting up ‌Visual Intelligence‌ on the AirPods. If hair is covering the AirPods up, you'll receive an alert. "To get the most accurate information about things in your environment, make sure AirPods are not covered," it says. The camera-equipped AirPods have the codename B790, which was also previously mentioned by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. There is a certain level of obtuseness in (some) "AI" apologists when they flounce up to point out what "AI" is good for in science, etc, while eliding the fact that almost none of that use is driving the current market capitalization, environmental degradation and resource hogging of the field

“Chippy” is a British slang term, referring to a (fish and) chip shop. But what *is* a “chip shop”? Let's review:

An alignment chart. On the horizontal axis, there are two options for shop purity. Shop Purist, where “shop” refers to a brick-and-mortar establishment, and Shop Radical, where “shop” refers to any form of merchant portal. On the vertical, there are two options for chip purity. Chip Purist, where a “chip shop” sells fish and chips prepared in the traditional manner, and Chip Radical, where a “chip shop” sells anything that could reasonably be called “chips”. Under chip and shop purist, your local fish-and-chip restaurant is a chippy. Under chip purist shop radical, a fish-and-chip food truck is a chippy. Under chip radical shop purist, a gardening store selling woodchips is a chippy. And under chip and shop radical, sparkfun.com is a chippy.
