Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things. Here’s a blurb on what I mean:

Some thoughts: When using GenAi as a mood board you don't get sources. This means you deprive yourself from knowledge. You generated a location? You deprived yourself of knowing more about the interesting parts of the world and why things came to be. Generate an armor or costume? You deprived yourself on real world techniques, function, form and history. You generated art inspirations? You deprive yourself of learning about artists from history or lock out living ones from potentially being hired. Ethical issues of using GenAi models aside, one ends up making visuals mood boards devoid of reality and history. With it one deprives themselves from learning about our world and who is living in it, inadvertently making your work weaker, because of how detached it is from our shared human reality and history.

Did you know that you have the power to shape cons? Emailing cons with good experiences you had goes a long way. Vendors you enjoyed? Panels that were a blast? Decorations for photos? Tell them! If its always bad it can be a bummer. Toss good in there for more of what you enjoyed 🥰

I’m seeing Squarespace upped their fees and just saying - if all you need is a portfolio website, Carrd will suffice. You can use my free portfolio template. It’s basic, but it’s way cheaper than SS & not hard to set up

A normal size (about 6" long, or one handful) handmade wolf Kuttari plush made in tones of brown with yellow eyes! He's missing one front leg and wearing a jaunty cowboy hat! Two Large size (each one is about 10" long, or a big double handful) handmade wolf Kuttari plushes! One is made in tones of darker brown with yellow eyes, the other is white with yellow eyes! They're snuggling close and smiling up at you. The white one has little fangies!Two handmade Kuttari plush! one is a lemon yellow tiger with purple, green and pink stripes - she's normal size (about 6" long, or one handful). The other is a blue dog with white, brown, and black accents - he's Large size, about 10" long or a big double handful. made in tones of brown with yellow eyes! They're side by side to show you the size difference and both looking hopefully up at you. I think they want snacks.A Large size (about 10" long, or a big double handful) handmade Kuttari plush made in tones of green with six shiny black eyes, six leafy ears, and antlers that look like tree branches! It has little of little embroidered firefly friends on it. I'm holding it in my hand to show how big it is and how satisfyingly it overflows one hand. Like all my Kuttari, it's weighted with beadfill so its paws are flopping cutely. It's watching you quietly and it knows if you littered in the forest.
