Anniversary of Ryan vs. Ventura. I think it's appropriate to frame as a boxing match. You have to remember that by '93 Ryan was an excellent control pitcher. He still had the heat but he cut his walks by a lot. Generally he put the ball where he wanted. This included coming inside.
