CURIOSITY HAS BEEN ON MARS FOR 14 YEARS!! HAPPY LANDIVERSARY CURIOSITY!!
In three all-around performances, the Cubs established themselves as worthy challengers to the Dodgers' throne, while Crow-Armstrong went toe-to-toe with Ohtani in a Wednesday slugfest that cranked the NL MVP race to 11.
MVP race is more like heavyweight fight between Pete Crow-Armstrong, Shohei Ohtani as Cubs sweep Dodgers

There is a player on the LA Queens, Brittany Apgar, who has a limb difference and traveled back to Illinois from receiving her first ever batting prosthetic *today* and is 3-for-3 in her first game playing with one. Incredibly cool.
Ordered Chinese delivery after seeing Cubs beat the Dodgers last night and today. These fortune cookies’ fortunes seem appropriate, given how many LA fans were at Wrigley, and how each game pivoted on small moments. @buckweaver.bsky.social
FTR I don't gaf abt Steroids in Baseball. They were not illegal and the owners (your actual enemy) celebrated their results...HARD! I care that politians tried to score points, to obfuscate anything that might unelect them. They've done so much for the NFL and CTE right?
Just heard ESPN talking heads debate this, and not one of them brought up PCA’s defense and how valuable it is to the team. It was all “If their offensive numbers are a push, Ohtani’s pitching numbers give him a three-peat as NL MVP.” @mmontemurro.bsky.social
The Shohei Ohtani vs. Pete Crow-Armstrong NL MVP debate will fascinating. Beyond offense likely will come down to Ohtani's pitching & PCA's defense Entering today: Batting run value: Ohtani 25, PCA 31 Baserunning run value: Ohtani 1, PCA 4 Ohtani pitching run value: 21 PCA fielding run value: 24
I just twigged the moral. Previously I thought it was still talking about baseball, and that the "Main" was the surrounding land, field, or village green or whatever. Instead it's saying scoring in baseball is a metaphor of the pursuits of the British Empire - "the Main" being, duh, the high seas.

Pete Crow-Armstrong has become the first Cub in franchise history with back-to-back 25-homer, 25-stolen base seasons and it's just the 6th time in franchise history, joining Ryne Sandberg (1985, 1990) and Sammy Sosa (1993, 1995).

It was the 25th homer of the season for both Ohtani and Crow-Armstrong. The NL MVP race could be quite fun these last two months.
Shohei Ohtani leads off the top of the 1st with a home run. Pete Crow-Armstrong leads off the bottom of the 1st with a home run. Quite the start to Cubs-Dodgers final meeting in the regular season.

When Ann Landers came to the Tribune, Mike Royko happily said, "Now, all those wackos who’ve been writing to me with their problems can write to her.” Now, with Dear Abby retiring, where are those wackos to go? www.chicagotribune.com/2026/08/05/a...

Republican primary voters are so racist that a guy named Tom Smith who DROPPED OUT OF THE RACE is going to defeat Trump’s endorsed candidate because his name is Amir Hassan.

On this day in 1944, the Gestapo found Anne Frank and her family in their Secret Annex. Her diary stands as a warning against hatred and persecution. Eighty years later, we should recognize the warning signs before it’s too late.🙂↕️
It's been a while since I revisited the 2019 mayoral election, and I kinda forgot how crazy the first round was. Nine different candidates won at least one precinct! Willie Wilson won the most precincts, but only came in 4th. Amara Enyia got more votes than Joyce and Chico but only won 8 precincts.
Typing this on my old rotary phone because phones have not improved in 40 years.
So this is basically one of the entry points to becoming a reactionary
