Happy Arkane is standing up for themselves and saying it's profitable, just not profitable enough for Microsoft. Corps need workers to stay silent to fill the void with their narrative. If you're gonna mishandle one of the greatest devs ever, you deserve the backlash.

"Arkane is profitable," say Marvel's Blade developers in fiery new statement, "just not profitable enough for Microsoft" https://bit.ly/4zCfCyj

do not funnel your grief over this death into trek and x-men merch, paramount & disney dont need your money. go to plays, give to charities, vote for candidates who will fund public art, and you will make it possible for people like patrick stewart to exist and keep existing. a rising tide lifts all

If you want more Patrick Stewarts, then you publicly fund the arts and learning programs, so that working class kids can find their way into making a career in them.

This is collaboration at its best. Two people, differing skillsets, differing opinions, bouncing ideas off each other and making something great that neither could've created on their own. I treasure these moments. I wouldn't trade them for anything. Eff the plagiarism machine.

🧵This Molyneux quote has filled me with existential dread ever since I read it. It reminds me of one of my favorite collaborative moments working with @threeohfour.bsky.social. We were about 1/3 through Unavowed production. I asked him if he could animate some kind of idle animation for Eli.

Long Peter Molyneux quote where he extolls the virtues of AI and how it could easily replace someone he used to collaborate heavily with.

I've talked about how this was inevitable. Generative AI has made superficially polished "perfection" universally accessible. But things that are universally accessible have much less social or artistic value. Even disregarding the moral an political objections: Gen AI is the new "Looks cheap."

China’s first AI-generated theatrical feature has flopped, earning just $181,000 in its first weekend. By contrast, the scrappy ‘Niu Lai’ turned its crude animation into a viral attraction, grossing nearly $10 million a couple of months ago. www.cartoonbrew.com/box-office-r...

People abroad don't understand the level of interference Meta & bots had in these elections. 5 days before the election a far-right politician posted a fake news video that got 157 MILLION views on Instagram in 24hs. For reference, GTA 6's reveal trailer got 90 million views on YouTube in 24hs.

I will not forget that Zuckerberg and Facebook shut down the accounts of the most popular presidential candidate in one of the largest democracies in the world, and he was elected anyway

steam should have tipping. it should have tipping. there should be tipping on steam. on steam, you should be able to tip the developer. the tip money should go straight to the developers who worked on the game and not the publishers or valve. they should make it so that on steam, you can give a tip

As a lifelong fan of the Computer That Does What It's Told I am not at all impressed by the entire global economy going all in on the Computer That Makes Mistakes
