At that time it was publicly known that Flynn was disgruntled, unhappy with DOD leadership, & w/Obama who had made him head of the DIA because he'd been very public about it. 1/
When people ask me how ranked-choice voting works in Portland, I tell them it gave us our first city council made up of, like, actual people. Decent people who want the city to work, like you'd imagine a democracy would elect.

Especially me. I didn’t, I own that, and I am really grateful for the responders on Engine 18 who showed up to make sure the situation was under control.
Cancer treatment. It's much, much better, safer, and less harmful than it was when I was a kid. Still rough as a gravel enema, but VASTLY improved.

Gen X and millennials watched fantasies made to sell toys and now struggle because that toyetic component never went away.
Came as close as possible to ethical consumption under late capitalism today. After @domesticat.bsky.social and I hand-picked a bunch of wild blackberries on public land, I spent the evening cooking them up into a delicious cobbler. (Using sugar and milk probably harvested by orphans or something.)
I think that not only is this good politics, but the stability of American society depends on it. Liberal American normies are out for blood, but *everyone* is in an anti-system mood. If we don't feed that beast some sacrifices, it'll find someone who can, and those sacrifices will be innocent.

Stephen Miller said just the other day that all asylum claims are "fake." A couple deported from the U.S. to Guatemala were gagged, bound, and shot dead. Their 14-month old found crying next to their mother's body. People like Miller don't care though because this is the point: ethnic cleansing.

Can't be overstated just how deeply Republicans oppose (a) merit in employment; (b) functional government; and (c) the notion Americans have any shared interests. That's why they don't even feel a tension between "being a bigot" and "undermining national security." To them, the latter is irrelevant.
