Nope. I don’t accept this position — that we are powerless to change the outcome of this mess. We have a small, time-critical window where we can collectively navigate through this. Also don’t forget, these are commercial entities that are selling products/services that are subject to laws.

I'm still grinding through Graeber and Wengrow's Dawn of Everything but as far as my smooth brain can understand it their basic thesis about the origin of inequality in society is "When a group of people gets too rich they basically put all their effort into ensuring nothing ever changes that"

Shopify CEO Tobi Lutke says “good system.” In response to the following proposal: “Interesting... what about weighted voting proportional to the level of income tax you pay? (no income tax paid - O vote, $1-100k - 1 vote, $100-200k 2 votes and so on... cap it at 5 votes for $500k+. For those that constantly complain about the wealthy not paying tax/fair share they'd have nothing to worry about right? Why not reward representation of taxation and build a democracy around those that foot the bill?”

I was raised to not speak ill of the dead. In therapy, I learned that speaking honestly about the harm done is more important than protecting the dead. Lindsey Graham caused more harm to this state than anything else in my lifetime. His legacy is hatred and brutality. Now, SC can move forward.
