Fandom omnivore. Fandoms I’ve lingered in and returned to: sw: clone wars, jane austen, age of sail/napoleonic wars/regency era, dc, gen kill

Horrible, horrible news about Glen Hansard. The Frames were the soundtrack to so many of my memories from my teens and 20s in Dublin, and Hansard always made his connection with the audience in every moment look and feel so effortless. He will be so deeply missed.

lol RTE’s football pundits are panning Bieber for bringing down the mood. They’re generally very against the concept of a halftime show, but if they have to endure it, then acoustic slow songs should not be part of it, is the overall consensus

Well, the World Cup halftime show was (perhaps predictably) an uneven mess. I’m just happy that it meant Min Yoongi got to indulge his little sports nerd heart (lol as though BTS wouldn’t immediately get final tickets if they wanted to)

Got sideswiped by some news in work today. It’s the kind of thing that usually I would be able to shrug off but apparently my brain is in the type of place where it’s just disheartening and demotivating… So I’m going to eat cake for dinner and watch melodramatic c-dramas

#tmi I have reached the point of perimenopause where my periods are regularly irregular. No show last month, so debilitating this month I had to take the day off work because painkillers weren’t making a dent. Still better than the time it stopped suddenly after day 2 then resumed 5 days later

It’s currently very hot in France (surprising, I know, news hasn’t mentioned it at all /s) so I am being a proper adult and eating ice cream for dinner

people keep trying to tell me about these new headphones that cost between $159 and $179 and only last 8 hours. it's like you're trying to sell me a fancy dress that disintegrates at midnight, man. my old headphones cost 5.99 and literally never ran out of charge!!!!!!

I have really good ingredients just waiting to be turned into tasty meal using an easy foolproof recipe, but work this week was a lot a lot, and now I’m sitting on the couch playing a game of “I don’t really need to eat to live, do I?”

I saw someone posting "The A in LGBTA stands for Ace, not Ally!" and. Listen, as an Ace, if you don't think we belong at Pride, I got a brick for you. But if you think "I wish I belonged at Pride, but I'm not queer enough," or "I'm not sure that's me," you belong at Pride.

The first thing I checked was whether this article was published April 1st. Reads like a parody of what Europeans think American hustle-culture involves, and yet… I think it might be sincerely written, which is depressing as fuck.

Reading about the "French Sunday trend" by which I learn that having a lazy breakfast and not doing much on Sunday is a mind-blowing innovation to Americans. *This* is why GDP and quality of life aren't the same... www.vogue.com/article/fren...

Just a little PSA- Neil Gaiman has reactivated his Bluesky account. Because he deactivated before a lot of people could unfollow him, and/or because Bluesky doesn’t remove you from a person’s followers when you block them, a LOT of you are still publicly listed as following him. You should check.

Forgot it was Star Wars day, and yet still managed to do something thematically appropriate by listening to the newest episode of Going Rogue’s current series all about the making of episode 9… Tansy, did you drop this over the weekend on purpose?

Tried a new exercise in the gym yesterday recommended to help strengthen my back. Stopped as soon as I felt that telltale “little niggle”. Today, I cannot sit, stand or walk normally and have had to take off work. I have got to stop trusting trainers who say they are familiar with hyper mobility.

I’m looking for an automated way to read others’s scientific data without giving credit or acknowledgement, and also claim full credit for insights from it. And I want it to have a fitting name OAI: say no more

RE: last re-post - Usually I don’t post much in the way of Kpop here because while I listen to a lot of Kpop music, it’s not a *fandom* for me, but that performance of ‘like animals’ has been stuck in my head for almost 24 hours now
