I really hate the “I don’t owe anyone anything” mentality because we actually owe each other and this planet a lot. You don’t have to be selfless all the time or burn yourself out but you should be kind and helpful and compassionate to the best of your ability. We need to care about each other more

Generative AI is not only fundamentally based on the rejection of consent, but also *standards*. Artists have been micromanaged and hounded over individual pixels, academics fighting to defend every minute detail of their thesis, etc, and then are tossed away in favor of the get shit wrong machine.

If you do not understand what these instructions do, you should consider doing one of two options: 1. Learn a *little* bit about how computers work; or 2. Never use a computer again. This is for your own good

a) Some video games are genuinely better without voice acting (see: Undertale) b) Voice acting is so much cheaper than people realize. I'm directing an indie game and even at SAG rates, with as much voiced dialogue as Hades, we're probably not going to break even $30k. One session is like $500.

I'm so sick of seeing AI disclaimers like this. The solution to not having the budget for voice acting isn't to use AI, it's to not have voice acting at all! Games don't need VO to be good! By jamming in slopvoices, you're not making your game better, you're making it worse and reprehensible!

I had neighbors back in the US who let their cats out basically every day arguing "but they want to go have fun outside!" so I asked "yeah and if your kids wanted ice cream for every meal, would you give it to them or tell them it wouldn't be good for them?"
