I concur! I remember mulling over how you'd do a cozy soulslike (as one who gets TERRIFIED of them myself 😬), so am I glad Andres found this! While this still has some edge, I found myself SUCKED IN! Bravo to the dev team on this one!!

I highly recommend the Mouseward demo. An original soulslike with Nintendo 64-style graphics, its cute rodents, intuitive level design, and adept combat systems had me thrilled the whole time.

I've been working on recording/documenting my whiteboxing process a bit more, now that we've figured out a fast pipeline. Could be cool to see what the earliest versions of our levels looked like, yeah? We do a lot of iteration! Might be a bit before I'm able to show anything publicly though, lol

After watching all of the John Wick films and some Monty Oum videos, I think I've found a heuristic for rating action scenes: Chekhov's Guns per Second: Count how many times something you can see in the room is used later as part of the fight choreography, then divide it by the length of the movie.

Here's a pretty subtle lighting change between vanilla and the Dark Souls remaster: They made the exit to the Asylum Demon's room a little brighter by adding a point light floating in front of it. It illuminates the doorway itself a bit better, and also lights the ground in front of it.
