A year ago the Bay Area Council was spending a lot of money on social media posts & ads lying to people w claims that traffic congestion on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge was the top source of air pollution in Richmond & that the bike/walk trail was to blame. www.baaqmd.gov/en/News-and-...

Exhausting to have the same NIMBY tenant organizers continue being quoted with the same talking points year after year after reams of research have shown not building housing has worsened the crisis: sfstandard.com/2026/08/24/s...
“But Toad,” said Frog, “I AM happy. I am very happy. This morning when I woke up, I felt good because the sun was shining. I felt good because I was a frog. And I felt good because I have you for a friend. I wanted to be alone. I wanted to think about how fine everything is.”
What's frustrating about the response to the Cicero Institute is that prominent Housing First defenders are often uninterested in land use policy, so they can't explain the real reason why HF hasn't produced results at scale in California. Which leaves a vacuum for creeps like Lonsdale to fill.
As with Waymo, Meta is trying to hide behind the needs of those with disabilities when defending their products. Since CA schools have banned phones, it should be an easy sell to forbid these products: futurism.com/artificial-i...
KQED posted an instagram reel about how people in the east bay have better bus etiquette than san franciscans and i am emotionally invested in this becoming the new local beef
This type of predatory pricing should be illegal. $50 for Plan B is another example of our failed healthcare system. Photo taken at walgreens checkout line.
Seattle's establishment media is profoundly threatened by Mayor Katie Wilson's successful progressive agenda, from building more housing to universal free school meals to expanding transit service to adding more funds for libraries -- things they've all opposed. So they turn to bias.
that's a lot of money to not write any tickets (and just wait for the robot to replace you) and give up on clearing rape reports (no robot for that yet unfortunately)
the way that Karen Bass’ political machine is trying to destroy Nithya (and replace her with an incompetent NIMBY) is genuinely astounding if you live in LA, please support her campaign, and donate since public matching means all donations are 6x matched

Nithya Raman has been removed as chair of Los Angeles City Council's housing committee, to be replaced by a member who, in a pro-housing forum no less, thoughtlessly bragged about how she reduced the scale of an affordable housing project. Truly insane.
Thanks @ebkm.org for an amazing rolling bike celebration around Oakland’s Lake Merritt this morning. Let’s get the cycletrack lake loop done & enable this same feeling EVERY day! Info at BikeEastBay.org/LML
This is the way, crack down on manufacturers & distributors to take already illegal e-devices off the market entirely. Here in CA @robbonta.bsky.social has started w Amazon, but we need to go further.
With polls looking so close, Wiener really didn't need this unforced error. Why would you deploy a such terrible tool to convince undecided voters? sfstandard.com/2026/08/06/w...
Wiener built an AI chatbot to mock Chan’s politics. Pelosi says it’s ‘sexist’ and ‘racist’
The race between state Sen. Scott Wiener and Connie Chan to succeed Pelosi in Congress is taking a turn for the personal.

I hope @agrobbonta.oag.ca.gov's Office is taking a look at this case and LINXS's conduct. Bonta could really boost his SoCal creds with this type of investigation. Insane how the contractor has stolen nearly a dollars (to-date) from the public (almost half the value of the original contract!)

The absurdity of the Hopkins saga is what radicalized me and got me interested in engaging Berkeley politics in the first place. I’m running for D1 and safe streets is a core priority of mine. Climate, community, public safety and personal health: bike lanes are the way 💪🚲 Rossforberkeley.Com
The Berkeley City Council will vote on whether to provide protected bike lanes on Hopkins Street. What's interesting is that they did already, back in 2022. When that vote happened (which was later derailed), my older daughter was not yet born. She will start TK the week after this vote.
That's the sound of someone destroying any future career in SF politics. This quote/position essentially closes the door to a State Assembly or Senate run. Good riddance, Mandelman.
