I had a whole day trip out planned for today but delayed fatigue from donating blood a few days ago hit me like a truck this morning and has left me feeling pretty low but there’s hope for a second attempt on Friday

Being a church treasurer must be an insane job because sometimes she's using our hardship find to help really vulnerable people secure housing, and sometimes she's checking receipts for bottles of wine that we're gonna turn into Jesus, and sometimes she's asking me why I've bought the church an axe.

The curse of being a church treasurer is that sometimes you get to do something that really helps someone out and sometimes you say something that makes you sound like George Osborne

since oscilloscope graphics are doing the rounds again, here's some photos from that time a few years ago when I built a gizmo to show dril tweets (and assorted other nonsense) on my ancient Tek 466

the battery on my phone isn’t holding a charge very well anymore so i’ll probably need to get a new phone soon. i’ll keep you all posted on the timetable. while i’m not an expert on spiritual matters, my best guess is that you’ll all be reincarnated

I remember X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008) being pretty bad, so much so that I have never revisited it in any X-Files rewatch since. Yet, I’m pretty intrigued by this “Vrach Frankenshteyn“ director’s cut. You could say that “I want to believe”?

BFI’s Blu Ray release of Akira Kurosawa’s Ikiru includes amongst its special features, a 1972 documentary called It's Ours Whatever They Say about the families on an Islington estate vs the council to get a playground built on a derelict lot instead of a car park and I found myself pretty invested

Here are some creepy things about livers. OK if you put a liver from a big dog into a small dog the liver will shrink to fit. After liver transplant sometimes fragments break off and can implant elsewhere in the body & start growing more liver. Liver cells often have two nuclei! (illegal manoeuvre)

Personally I think there are "legitimate questions" about COVID. Like why Michael Gove and Matt Hancock got away with giving away contracts to their mates. And why the fuck Michelle Mone and Doug Barrowman haven't been prosecuted.

Incidentally, proper ventilation is still not mandated, funded or installed in the vast bulk of these schools (including the new build school that I can see under construction from my living room window) despite the fact it would allow kids to stay in school in the event of another covid pandemic.

Up here all of my family and friends’ schools (who worked in education) were open. They’d be teaching essential workers’ kids + teachers were collecting vulnerable* kids to teach them. They were also doing online lessons. *the ones who would likely have been dead if they’d been allowed to stay home

Yes lockdown was really tough for kids. Lots of those kids are teenagers now so maybe as a thank you our establishments could stop deliberately making even more things worse for them due to a weird systemic hatred of our own youth

Learned this morning that £12m was spent locally to build a “fish motorway” beside the River Trent, the largest in the UK, but there are doubts that fish are even using this and while I find it funny, I’m more bothered that it’s been open since 2024 and I never knew until now
