trans lesbians and het trans women like to say they have nothing in common w each other. i don't think that's true at all and i'd love to see that attitude challenged more. meanwhile bi trans women feel pressured to collapse themselves into one of these two supposedly mutually-exclusive cultures

Friends, we do not have time for lateral violence. There is an emergency facing trans people and we need each other. I know Sarah McBride. Sarah my friend. I see in her a powerful voice in the most hostile circumstances imaginable, a Republican trifecta led by an authoritarian madman...

Instead of spending our time attacking Sarah McBride, let's talk about the vast majority of Democratic lawmakers who have done nothing to protect her. Stonewall riots succeed because there are COLLECTIVES there, not single heroic individuals. Stop denying McBride her backup when she needs it most.

I'd like McBride to throw a brick at Mike Johnson too, but I'm far less confident than some that this will accomplish anything other than feeling self-satisfied as I'm being escorted to a men's prison for walking down the street. I will never decide what resistance has to look like for other people.

Dear friend @wamiq.bsky.social posted this recently and it sat on me in a way that made me feel awful. Finally resolved for myself what bothers me about it as I watch many of my friends ripping into Sarah McBride.

I don't understand the pressures Sarah McBride must be under. I sympathize with folks wanting her to be more forceful. But I also remember the number of times I've been lectured not to debate tactics when someone is promoting a more aggressive solution than I prefer.

The true reason behind banning transgender women from women's restrooms is not the protection or care of women. It is ensuring a permanent category of women who will be perpetually subject to the threat of male assault and violence.

trans ppl flee’ing twitter to get away from terfs should serve as evidence that we mean it when we say we just wanna be left alone. terfs organising to come over here and harass us should serve as evidence that they are aggressive and predatory abusers.
