Gonna run for congress on a platform of "I have dreams about Serbia. I revere Serbia. Serbia has a right to exist as a Serbian nation. First country I visit will be Serbia. The Bay Area is the Belgrade of the United States. No I'm not Serbian." and then absolutely fucking crash out when i don't win

All the Fauci stuff is a modern day version of the POW/MIA stuff after Vietnam - a way to try to rewrite the history of a huge failure of conservative ideology to be instead a story about how liberals and foreigners stabbed us in the back.
I was raised as a conservative, by conservatives. Right wing politics are nothing but a rhetorical game. Played to its end, that game leads to the destruction of organized human life on earth.
You can yell “debate me!” As much as you like but your argument violates the pre-defined terms of the engagement and can be dismissed outright. Fuck off.
One of my best gaming experiences was in Silent Hunter III, where I role-played as realistically and carefully as possible over 12 patrols starting at the end of 1941, having some close escapes and building a good, reliable crew. My first patrol in 1944, out in the Norwegian Sea, radar detector...
as a dad who has also been delayed getting home to Ithaca after a work trip that wasn't a lot of fun (although professionally successful), I greatly enjoyed the Odyssey
Pete Hegseth: "We need our warriors to embrace the Spartan mindset" U.S. Military: *suffers crushing defeat to the Persians*
Got upset and made this so hopefully people will actually listen. What the fuck are we doing here folks?
Saga of Tanya the Evil (Youjo Senki), I was not familiar with your game! Somehow I sat on (or even avoided) this anime series all this time despite my military history background, and now that the 2nd season is coming out - I decided to catch up, and have been duly impressed with this insane show.
Very badly, though not for the obvious reason - he's a bartender, and customer service has never been my strong suit, but I'd probably power through that somehow. The real problem is that he's a bartender in Japan and while I'm not completely useless at the language, I'm really not fluent either.
Thought experiment- if you were suddenly appointed to do your sibling’s job, how badly would you suck at it?
"Verify your age" My first computer had a whopping 64kb of RAM and its only storage medium was cassette tapes.
“Verify your age” To play video games we had to go to like channel 3 on the tv.

warrior culture is only fighting wars on weekends, killing people who can’t fight back for content, spitting on allies who fought and died for you, throwing a hissy fit and making toothless threats, violating the trust of female + trans + black personnel who paid into the system, being real swole
Antidoomerism: The Animation (Seriously though, TTGL is so good and holds up so well.)
Gurren Lagann is correct about its central conceit that the entirety of the power of the human spirit is ignited at the intersection of hope, belief, faith & trust. And that despair not only limits imagination but is also a spiritual death that leaves us helpless when facing humanity’s adversaries.
New article aims to offer a compelling introduction to the TESCREAL concept. I argue that one simply cannot make sense of what's going on in Silicon Valley--including the race to build god-like computers--without some understanding of TESCREALism. Would love to know what you think!
Skeptical of the TESCREAL Acronym? Read This.

I am completely losing it at a Ukrainian weapon system being named "піздюк". Brilliant.
Ukraine unveiled an automated mini air defense system for FPVs and the AI-powered "Peace Duck" interceptor. Developer Contra Drone says the new counter-drone architecture combines radar, electronic warfare, and autonomous interceptors against Russian UAVs.

Seriously, this was wild. What an amazing experience, got really lucky to grab a spot that was at most 50m from the stage, and we only arrived an hour and a half before showtime. youtu.be/UYsBw9BisxU

Polka Dot City over here as Angine de Poitrine take over the Montreal Jazz Festival. They broke the attendance record for the 46 years that the festival has been running, with reportedly as many as 80,000 turning up for their free set. What a great show!
Homeowners are so fucking funny dude "Oh the homes around me are way too much! Oh, my home? Oh it's fine, maybe I even deserve more!"
I've grown a bit skeptical on Beevor - he's a great narrative writer who is often decades behind the curve on scholarship, has huge blind spots in certain subjects, and often plays some iffy arguments for drama. But I'm willing to give this one a go, this is certainly a story worth telling!
Our current stage of fascism is best understood as a desperate last stand by a disparate coalition of forces who rightly feel existentially threatened by the impact of these liberatory movements. White supremacists, misogynists, billionaires-- they knew exactly what time it was on the clock.
Today's Montreal shooting: I'm local, and while I was not near the site today, I do know the area pretty well. I've (unfortunately) seen a bunch of the video, and have a good sense of the location, which leads me to conclude that the shooter was targeting Pørnhub's parent company Aylo. (Thread)
