i know you can say this about pretty much every MGS game after 1 but man it really does feel like they were supposed to stop making these things after Peace Walker

there's plenty of restaurants in this town, but the owner of the sandwich shop downtown hates me, says he's gonna kill me, and has a sign up on the wall saying that 5 cents out of every sandwich order will go towards buying bullets to shoot me with.

executive brain is so funny. they'll see the success of movies and shows based on perpetually relevant games like sonic, mario, minecraft, fallout, or the last of us, typically things with characters and worlds people care about, and go "well we have breakout. that's basically the same thing"

Slight S15 KotH spoilers, but when I put together the layout for this pet cemetery in episode 02, I asked everyone on the crew for names of pets they wanted to see memorialized because I think real pet names hit different than generic placeholder names I would invent on the spot-

Hank kneeling at a gravestone in a pet cemetery, holding an umbrella, with a small dog on a leashHank standing and looking down at the grave, showing a different angle on the cemetery

Giving a friend long, heartfelt advice in a friendly, measured tone, but ending it with calling them "Pomni" to retroactively make it all a Lucid Kinger Monologue, and continuing to call them "Pomni" afterward

exhausting to have discussions about the game industry online because devs will be talking about labor issues and players feel the need to chime in and make it about their personal tastes in games

in art circles in jp / chn, artists get referred to as “sensei” / “laoshi”, but we don’t have that in english and we should. but i also don’t really like the way “teacher” sounds in english, so i think we should start addressing all artists as “boss”, like we’re all goons (the normal definiton)

i keep thinking about the army of cops in the dark knight rises and how they all march into the tunnels together and get trapped underground for months and then they're freed and they all march into battle against bane's guys together. they don't have minds of their own. they're like pikmin
