An outside study shows JTA is not being honest about the numbers behind NAVI, the transit system no one wants. Transportation planner and Jaxson cofounder Ennis Davis says it’s time to kill NAVI— so we can have an honest discussion on the Skyway’s future. jaxtoday.org/2026/09/09/t...

THE JAXSON | Kill NAVI: We deserve an honest conversation about the Skyway | Jacksonville Today

Before Jacksonville commits hundreds of millions of additional dollars to the Skyway or its replacement, a close look at what's actually on the table.

let's keep at it, but i'm definitely uncomfortable with the suggestion that not donating blood at all is a reasonable form of protest against any remaining discriminatory policy. i'm pretty sure the FDA doesn't care whether you do or not, while at the same time, that donation can save a life

gearing up for a day of totally out of pocket takes, but a few reminders: 1. Home rule should never be contingent on which way DC votes and anyone saying otherwise can eat shit 2. DC is a real place with its own issues for real people, not a stand in for national politics writ large

The fixation on a small amount of lithium for ebikes is weird. Ebikes open up more recreational terrain, particularly for women, the elderly, and the disabled. I see nothing wrong with ebikes for recreational riding. People take recreational drives in cars all the time

I think the question is, what do they replace? If an e-bike replaces a car (even for some trips), great! But if it’s just an expensive recreational bicycle, was it worth the lithium mining?

NEWS: A federal judge has saved the 15th Street protected bike lane (for now), saying the decision to remove the lane running from Constitution Avenue to the Tidal Basin was "arbitrary and capricious and not the result of reasoned decision-making." It was to be removed this week.

The 15th Street Protected Bike Lane south of Constitution Ave is slated to be removed on Monday, per 2 sources Reportedly DDOT did not raise strong objections to it and has further not objected to using the Hains Point bike lanes for car traffic during the cherry blossoms

Periodic reminder that while you should OF COURSE respond to any calls for blood donation immediately after a crisis if you can, it's even more important to donate when there ISN'T an emergency. If they're asking for donations right after a crisis, it means supplies were already critically low.
