Bluesky is a "liberal bubble" because fascist chuds can't get traction without algorithmic assistance and because people here trained themselves to block "debate me" trybois the instant they roll up

Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

My current #WIP 's narrator has received a bunch of his high-school diaries and is now, from 30 years later, re-reading the things he wrote down and recalling the things he left out. He's trying really hard to be honest, but it's not any easier in 2018 than it was in 1988.

Tell me more about your #AwesomeCharacters Your character is writing their memoirs! How honest are they being? Are they playing up their heroism and the drama? Are they leaving anything out? Why? What tone will it have? #WriteSky #WritingCommunity #WritingPrompts

The 12yo is interested in #Smaugust, a month of drawing dragons, named in honour of Smaug, from The Hobbit. He couldn’t find a prompt list which really inspired him so he made his own. I am sharing it here in (complete with his illustration!) case you want to play along.

My son’s pencil drawing shows a large winged dragon climbing a rock wall next a tiny dragon. There is a typed list of 31 prompts and title “Smaugust 2026”.

The prompts are:
1. Archaic
2. Earth

Every now and then someone takes a run at me along the lines of "I don't understand why you, a scifi writer, don't appreciate 'AI'," and I'm all, motherfucker, it's *because* I'm a science fiction writer I have the positions I have, how many times do we have to fucking yell "torment nexus," my dude

I'm not, to be sure, saying I endorse this, but I do recall, decades ago, a writer wryly commenting that we should do away with copyediting altogether, perform a basic check for spelling errors and other typos, and find out "who can write and who can't."
