Peter Green

It's overdue, and probably doomed, and I'm too old, and I don't care anymore. (he/him)
Labour should offer confidence and supply until the election so Luxon has no excuse not to sack Peters.
Weird how Peters is choosing to end his political career as some kind of antipodean Temu Trump
NZ in 2016: give nothing to racists NZ in 2026: give a cabinet minister role to racists.
certainly seems like a choice by sinead boucher to not put the "winston peters has nazis in his party" on the front page of stuff when she could easily do that since stuff owns the press.
That the orientation of Unilever management is callow, visionless, shareholder-supremacist template neoliberal capitalism will come as no surprise to NZers whose current PM climbed the ranks there.
Using Ben & Jerry's to trace how shareholder-driven restructuring can strip a values-based company of its social mission, this piece contrasts the brand's early pay limits and political activism with Unilever's 2000 acquisition. By Rickey Gard Diamond in @msmagazine.com buff.ly/N5jnTkX
It’s cool that NZF candidates are essentially running CHCH shooter talking points but they are legitimized as “kingmakers” and not ruled out by everyone *before* the election. Nice country we live in.
'Hey let's have a catchup when our schedules sync about the racist remarks, cheers' CEO Luxon #nzpol
PostScript: I suspect that when asked further, Paul Henry will say something like "Well I was hit as a kid and I turned out alright" and I'm begging any mainstream politician to clip it and follow it up with "No, you turned into Paul Henry. We can't do that to kids, it's inhuman"
Lol, Simeon Brown doesn't care that voters no longer trust National on the economy, because business still likes them. Let them eat cake (the cake is supplied by Compass).
New polling shows Labour leading National on all five top voter issues, including economic management, creating a tough path to election day
I am in awe of the creation of this movie. I can't begin to imagine the meetings that were required to green light this.
This looks hilarious

An Ex-ACT MP straight upcalls Peters's racism racist, putting the press gallery to the right of ACT.
Journalists will see it raining outside but they can't tell you that, they have to go ask a politician "is it raining outside?" and then they're allowed to tell you "Politician Slams Weather!"
@glennmccnz.bsky.social and @stuff.co.nz have managed to cover this story across two days without using the word "racist" once It's both racist and xenophobic, but for some reason those words are conspicuously absent #nzpol
China’s ambassador not impressed with Winston Peters insulting Chinese-Kiwi MP
With China clearly taking note of the outburst, former prime minister Helen Clark says Winston Peters is failing his duty as foreign minister.

Under no circumstances do you gotta hand it to Luxon but he has stopped the charade about the National party. He is willing to work with someone who says shit like go back to where you came from over TOP. And on that note Labour still hasn’t properly ruled out NZF. Today is a good day to do that.
Meanwhile Peters does this year after year after year and the gallery basically just go 'Oh my god the price IS right' and clap like seals then delightedly write their articles about how naughty he is #nzpol
Lawrence Xu-Nan, voted top-performing MP by the press gallery in 2025, catching strays from Winston - I'm trying to balance the despair at how far NZF has been allowed to pushed racism in the House, with the jealousy being actually very funny.
Ms Willis went on to say, "A woman is defined as someone who should not get equal pay for equal work - as National have repeatedly stated this term" www.stuff.co.nz/politics/361...
Willis hits out at NZ First: ‘No woman wants to be reduced to a description about shopping habits’
Following Stuart Nash’s resignation over sexist remarks, a New Zealand First candidate has offered another definition a woman - someone who knows where to shop

The Free Speech Union having their CE and board member stand as candidates for Internet NZ and emailing their members to rank them 1 and 2 and not rank any other candidates feels like it should be more of a news story. It's antithetical to a genuine election and the democratic process.
the current NZ govt is so anti-science that they've changed eligibility for the Prime Minister's Science Prizes to rule out awards to people doing basic science eg from 2026 the MacDiarmid is for work with "potential to generate econ, health, social, or env benefits for New Zealand" #nzpol
Great way for the new appointee to the Medical Council to let her colleagues and the people she's meant to be overseeing that if ANYTHING doesn't go her way she will go straight to the Free Speech Union to put out a press release. Real professional behaviour.
It's definitely funny watching the Atlas minions fighting each other but "exists to defend free speech" is disqualifying levels of gullibility from Malpass re the FS"U".
Thomas Nagel fuming at this one.

i think there's a world where if Labour now rule out Opportunity as well that immediately gets them over 5% purely on "fuck you both then" energy from voters
This seems risky, we should start with a trial where we put hunters in charge of rabbits on farming land.
ACT wants hunters in charge of game animals on conservation land, not DOC
