Treating trans people like content fodder is fucked up, but I’ll say one thing: actual WNBA fans are, in my experience, the most inclusive, diverse, progressive fans there are. Players too, I think. They’ll keep pushing back against this shit. Cunningham’s incel “fans” don’t even watch the game.

“Protecting girls in sports” by driving girls out of sports by imposing medical tests and examinations of their genitals or else. This shit hits every single one of the sexist, pedo, rapist, surveillance state, and Nazi buttons.
An initiative on the ballot in Washington state in November would require all athletes seeking to play girl's sports from kindergarten to high school to undergo "genetic screening, a testosterone-levels test, or an examination of their reproductive anatomy" before they can play
"don't make enough money" is a fig leaf All those degree programs--social work, art, etc.--have disproportionately female student bodies. This is designed to make it harder for women to attend college--college education being a key factor in women's autonomy from men & left-leaning voting pattern.
President Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loans. Degrees for social work, art, religious studies, teaching aides, and music will be hit the hardest. trib.al/aaAEu6v

Are YouTubers the New Movie Brats? Spielberg, Coppola, and Lucas, with Paul Fischer
Movies looked irrelevant and corny before, until some kids brought it back from the dead. Are there signs that it's happening again? 'Last Kings of Hollywood' author Paul Fischer explains.

Recently finished THE LAST KINGS OF HOLLYWOOD and the stories of the JAWS shoot were epic
reading "last kings of hollywood", a recent book about coppola, lucas, spielberg (and guest starring scorsese)... i could read about the friendships / differences among these guys forever. reminds me of, like, coleridge & wordsworth, shelley & byron, pound & eliot
Very entertaining and enlightening book, by the way
This is my next audiobook. A friend who's been in the film distribution business his entire career read it, and recommended it.
just finished THE LAST KINGS OF HOLLYWOOD, a very enjoyable read on coppola, lucas, and spielberg. it's striking how much nicer spielberg is than everyone else. it's also striking how much better the hollywood they were fighting to destroy was than what we have now.
Just finished The Last Kings of Hollywood by Paul Fischer, and DAMN, it got dark in that epilogue. Very interesting book.
Reading THE LAST KINGS OF HOLLYWOOD and I'm at the part where Spielberg takes all the scary stuff out of the first draft of ET and uses that for POLTERGEIST.
So many anecdotal stories of how these three men changed the way movies were created and distributed to audiences hungry for their new takes on familiar stories. An engaging read with plenty of Hollywood name dropping. You won’t be disappointed. #LastKingsofHollywood #CeladonReads @CeladonBooks
Cruelty is the foundation of those 'policies'. Making us feel threatened is the purpose. We have no physical proof of our status, we are at the mercy of a glitch. We are aliens, and we must be made aware of it. Reform's 'plan' to strip us of our Leave to remain is just a darker shade of grey.

I started getting followed by some "film festivals" and "writing festivals" and thought "oh, these are cool!" Then I looked a little closer. They're all part of a network that preys on writers, charging us for reviews, and feeding our stuff into slop generators. So I made a list.👋🏻🖕🏻😠

They’re going to threaten this stuff, they’ll hamfistedly screw up the implementation, commit seven atrocities, and still lose every election that matters in November. We’re now nearing the “fuck you, do it, see what happens” stage of this confrontation IMO

There's so much talent in the WNBA, so many brilliant inspiring women, and somehow the media and corporate interests around the league have decided this coddled, entitled, flopping and diving show should be the centrepiece, bc... CC's white and can shoot from the logo? So can Sab. So can Mabrey.
