Great research. They were terrible times. Women everywhere faced indifference by the Pensions Board. Many lost their jobs and could not find other work. Single women had no entitlements by the state. Their heroic contributions ignored. My research on Country Antrim reveals a similar picture.

I've been haunted by the words of former Cumann na mBan women who led lives of quiet desperation in the state they helped to build. @lloislanel.bsky.social has done eye-opening & vital research laying bare the hardship faced by single women in Cork. www.irishexaminer.com/opinion/colu... #SpeirGorm

For a wee treat, try these biscoff & dark chocolate swirls. They are divine! theveganlunchbox.co.uk/biscoff-choc... You can cut the recipe down & make a few or make a full batch, freeze some, then bake from frozen when you need a treat. Oven or air fryer #plantbased #dairyfree #vegan #vegetarian

Blue sky has reminded of the outstanding French crisp experience I had last week. Bought them at a petrol station loo stop and passed them round the car, to everyone's approval. Managed to save half the bag for the train home.

Someone told me "Bluesky is just like Twitter." I argued that was untrue on the basis that last time I had a Twitter account most times I got a new follower their bio said "single & looking for fun" & here when I get a new follower it tends to say something like "professor of rare moths".
