Movies used to have room to breathe. Now it’s opening weekend or nothing. In the 1980s WILDWOOD would have played for months, and developed a fervent following. See WILDWOOD, if you can. It really is that good. People complain about how we don’t get great, complex genre cinema. Well, this is it.

lol my most outrageously unlikely dream project also didn't happen. The art I commissioned for the pitch turned out nice, tho!
Pocket Bear Press@pocketbearpress.com · 2w agoMy dream is to license Sailor Moon for a game. Which I somehow believe is more likely than anything from Cartoon Network.
When Grammy-winning musician Rhiannon Giddens begins playing “Old Corn Liquor,” a traditional Black American folk tune, acclaimed Chinese pipa virtuoso Wu Man recognizes similarities to Chinese pentatonic music and spontaneously joins in. The joy on their faces says it all.

My Rage Against the Machine/Les Mis mashup is complete. This is my interpretation of the quilt guild’s summer challenge “quilt with your interpretation and/or feelings towards our current ‘democracy’” all hand stitched.

Jack Haven is THE best part of QUEENS OF THE DEAD. They're so goddamn funny, and it's insane to me that they have to literally beg for work.

DiscussingFilm@discussingfilm.net · 2mo agoThere are currently no active conversations for a full ‘MUPPET SHOW’ series revival. Disney, The Muppets Studio and Point Grey Pictures have had difficulties with deciding on a premise for the series that they can all agree on. (Source: Deadline)
Tim Curry and Dolly Parton have taught us not only that you should be bigger, weirder, gayer, and freakier, but also that those qualities are what people will love about you. The things that make you strange and amazing are the things that will resonate with other strange and amazing people
Tim Curry had been doing poorly ever since he had a major stroke back in 2012. Amazingly, he still did the occasional VA work, voicing Auntie Whispers in 2014. Theres an ethereal frailness to her because of what he went through. He, like Dolly, was an amazing human being.

No one is lying about the Hadestown proshot, folks. It is incredible and, yes, quite possibly the best proshot I’ve seen. Do not miss it. It’s only out for a week, and I don’t know that we know yet if and where it will have a life after this.
