Searcher of the abundant joy in the small things. #CargoBike ⚡📦🚲 rider and a hardworking pedestrian 🚶. Plot experimenter. Knows a bit about woodworking. Hoping #ActiveTravel is one day just called "travel" Shrewsbury UK.

Road sweeper truck just came down our street to sweep leaves 🍂 from the gutters so they don’t block the drains and cause flooding of the roads. Found it to be a permanent car park as usual so has had to go away again. Of course it’s probably the Councils fault 🤷🤪

Meet Will, the Cambridge plumber who gets to many of his jobs by e-cargo bike. Will founded Veloplumb in 2023, with a simple idea: many plumbing jobs don’t need a van full of equipment. 'I really believe in it, it boosts mental health to be outdoors, exercising and of course doing some plumbing!

Man wearing sunglasses on a branded Veloplumb cargo bike giving a thumbs-up outside Victorian terraced houses with red and blue front doors, promoting low-emission plumbing and heating services.

🌳 Riverside Gardens is now open! 🌳 You can now explore Shrewsbury's newest play area, the open space and climbing boulder, built from English stone - including locally quarried Grinshill sandstone. The park also creates a new route from Frankwell to Raven Meadows and back.

As someone whose relatives have fallen and broken limbs from uneven damaged pavements, I hate that this has become so normalised. Why is everyone so impatient now? 🚗🚌🚚 Ironically I’m on a bike and we always get accused on cycling on pavements, but reality says different.

This from Shrewsbury's Residents Association traffic policy. How did people cope before cars?! I for one can't sleep without my passing traffic security blanket.

STRCA doesn't support:
• Extension of pedestrian areas beyond the weekends, or into the night
     • The lack of passing traffic/headlights increases anxiety among many residents. Extending pedestrian zones can create a feeling of desolation after dark.
