I'm looking for short solo TTRPG recommendations. Sometimes sold as one-page games, but longer is fine as long as it can be played by one person. Usually sold as a digital file to print with pen and paper type gameplay. All genres and styles welcome. Self-recs are fine.

Today's critter removal was a harvester who really didn't want to be inside a house. No crickets for once.

It cooled down enough for a night walk. Very quiet at the moment.
this is really, really bad, and Spokane is ... not exactly on the national radar. I know there are infinite people and places that need help, and everyone's resources are finite, but some options if you are so inclined:
Wildfires in Spokane have destroyed hundreds of homes and led to evacuation orders for 60,000 people. n.pr/3Sbed19
One of the crickets I put outside decided to bite me. Not hard enough to damage, but expecting to get my cricket superpowers soon.
My name is Nilah and I'm here to say I'll illustrate your picture book any time you're looking for an illustrator to do that, just hit me up! Look I'm an illustrator, not a poet. Hire me to DRAW! My portfolio: www.nilahmagruder.com/portfolio/ #kidlitart
Still working on scan cleanup, with the occasional excitement of catching the crickets coming into the house.
1920s writer: "I'd just had a short story published so I was able to make a substantial downpayment on a new house." 2020s writer: "I've just had a short story published so I can have a cheeky Nando's as long as I don't get a pudding."
It's been some days since I stopped the medication, so it seems to have worked for now. I was put on low dose amitriptyline for a month for nerve issues. It made me feel alert rather than sleepy, so I didn't take it too close to sleep. But the nerve stuff worked as it was supposed to.
Here's the first instalment of our guide to Kenyan speculative fiction. Today's spotlight features Kenyan writing published by Will This Be A Problem? over the years. See thread below 🧵
Worked on the bonus short for Wereconifer. Everything is getting there.
Looking at the Worldcon schedule. I selected streamed stuff only and there are 568 items. Going to take a bit to figure out what I'm going to (virtually) attend. I'll probably just skim today and pick out anything very obviously my thing.
The letters are drawn. I need to let it dry before scanning, but then I'll have all the bits for the cover. Felt tips are a lot easier to work with than wax crayons.
You may recall the case where Lynne Freeman sued Tracy Wolff for writing a YA set in Alaska where the male lead was hot and broody, just like in Freeman's book. This litigation went on for three years before a judge finally read both books and said there was zero infringement.
So do you all remember Lynne Freeman who sued Tracy Wolff because Freeman wrote a YA paranormal set in Alaska where the hero was hot and the heroine only learned about her paranormal heritage as a teenager, and so did Tracy?
I have drawn a tree! Time for a tea break, then I'll touch up some odd spots. 🎄
With all this cheese talk, I'm going to go make a cheese and pickle sandwich. Then cover art time.
I watched an episode of ITV's Marple. Started with the second one, The Murder at the Vicarage, as I prefer that story. The casting was good. I liked Miss Marple. Though second Christie adaptation I've seen adding tragic backstories (the other being the more recent Poirot films).
Good news on the plant front. A bit back, the plug for my waterlice tank light got pulled out and I didn't realise. The neon pothos was dead and crispy looking by the time I saw it... Last few days, it's sprouted a bunch of new leaves. Pothos will survive the apocalypse.
My combined file is sent for editing. I'll start work on the cover tomorrow. But now, I've got some hours before bed, so might watch something!
Headed out for a walk. One tree has loads of sloe berries. Some of the blackberries have also ripened. Autumn is slowly getting closer, even if it doesn't feel like it yet.
In my quest to try various fermented and cultured products, I tried Yakult today. It tastes exactly like a bacteria culture with added vanilla flavour. So, not winning on taste, but tolerable.
My new book, Dance the Harvest Home, is now available for pre-order on Itchio! 📚 💙 Dandelion has always had a dream of making somewhere that kids like him (aroace, disabled, weird) could grow up without being ostracised. Now he has the chance to make it reality. e-h-timms.itch.io/dance-the-ha...

Turned out my supermarket didn't have any cheap felt tip pens. I have some on order. (I only have proper art pens, which isn't the right vibe for the book cover.)
In important news, I have the first dice out of my dice soap! It's a D10 in pearly purple. The rest still inside are the same colour, but other numbers. Need to wash my hands more often.
For Pride, why not buy my Elgin-nominated poetry collection, TIME TRAVEL IS EASY? It contains my Rhysling-nominated poem “Toward a Cladistic Analysis of Hauntings,” and many other poems on queerness and Deep Time. Azn: www.amazon.com/dp/B0G344X8L7 Itch: dinoholler.itch.io/time-travel-...
