Beyond the horrifying reality that a hospital is trying to "clear the pentobarbital from [Christa Pike's] system" currently, the litigation over Tennessee's actions this week will shine a very clear light on the many, many reasons why governments should not be trusted with killing their citizens.

Story here. Attorneys say Pike is unconscious, on a ventilator and that both of her arms were “swollen, burned, and blistered” upon her arrival at the hospital Wednesday night. nashvillebanner.com/2026/10/02/c...

Kevin Hassett on the unemployment rate going up: "People are seeing the strong labor market and they're saying, 'Oh! I need to get bad to the labor force because I'm going to make so much money.' That's one reason the unemployment rate just ticked in a different direction."

incredible spin from Hassett on mortgage rates being well above 7%: "When the economy is growing really high, then longer-term interest rates can sometimes go up not because of inflation, but because like all these businesses have a high demand for capital because they're building factories."

was discussing this at dinner last night: one of the many problems with trying to make policy 'that the American public wants' is that the American public change their minds all the time and are frequently very very stupid.

Fun facts: Chris Rufo’s grandmother was an Italian immigrant who, I’ve heard from a reliable source, never learned to speak English fluently. Rufo’s wife meanwhile is an immigrant from Thailand. And the director of the Manhattan Institute who employs him? The son of Muslim immigrants from Bangladesh

New: Chris Rufo & his co-host devoted a podcast to "The Indian Question," framing Desi people as a problem to be solved. Their "solution?" Mass expulsion. For those allowed to remain: an “assimilation hazing process” w/ instances of “vulgar, defamatory racism" talkingpointsmemo.com/news/chris-r...

If the whites were to get rid of the rest of us it would be nothing but peace, quiet, and harmony until 45 minutes later when they start the hair color killings

It seems quaint now that we do all our banking and race science there, but, nevertheless, it's true: at one time, people mostly wrote jokes on Twitter. 10 years ago, I wrote one about an old asshole and it kinda changed my life. Not his, though. www.cnn.com/2026/10/01/u...

The tweet that defined a decade of Trump | CNN

It’s been 10 years since Jesse Farrar accidentally defined a political era with one pithy, prescient tweet. He wishes it never happened.

At least once a week Ossoff cold-calls people in Georgia: mayors, school principals, clergy, farmers and so forth. Political affiliation doesn't matter, and the people have no idea it's coming. To some degree the last set of calls dictates the next one. It is smart for several reasons. First -
