Hypercompetent polyglot know-it-all. Unrepentant SJW troublemaker. Neuroqueer teacher, mom, partner, Official Auntie, best friend, co-conspirator. An American in Aotearoa New Zealand. Always noncompliant. She/her/elle/ia

as much as i’d rather build something new, we have to takeover and gut the democratic party all that infrastructure belongs to the people, not the loser ass DCCC consultant class that has reduced it to nothing since the clinton era

Anti-trans Democrats are spreading poison when we can least afford it, during elections in this ongoing fascist takeover. As a strategy, it’s a recipe for failure. As a moral stand, it’s reprehensible. PS I’m the father of young trans woman and I’ll never forgive anyone who makes her life harder.

Wait, what? I must’ve missed the biweekly bisexual memo. The only time I played Sims, I was so good at romance that my characters had a baby, delivered to the patio, before I knew how to move objects, so it cried until CPS came to take it away. If you didn’t know that could happen, neither did I.

Any coincidence that LGBTQ+ favourite The Sims is one of the first big victims under the ownership of the Saudi state?

If steady regular income that's one of the bedrocks of your business is insufficient to pay off the people you borrowed from in order to buy that business, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE BORROWED THAT MONEY YOU FUCKING WEASEL TIT

Maxis fucking prints money. They do it cheap and they crank out packs and updates on the regular, and Sims fans devour them. They are the proverbial cash cow. So why lay those people off when you're trying to cover an $18 billion buyout debt? This is why leveraged buyouts should be illegal.

EA closing BioWare and cancelling Mass Effect 5 wasn't the only hit: Another 350 cuts landed on Respawn, Motive, and Maxis

The $55 billion buyout finally has a body count. Ironically, the studio that defined the modern RPG is the first to go, but its not the only victim.

In 1972, a group of Harlem Renaissance cultural icons gathered at Duke Ellington's house. The afternoon was captured on 16mm film by William Greaves, but the footage remained unedited in a vault for 50 years until David Greaves restored his father's project, releasing the documentary it 2026.

we should all be pissed off at this btw. if not because sex work is legitimate work and should be treated with respect, then because you should be concerned at attempts to gentrify online spaces as pretext to court investors and force out minorities so those spaces can become part of a portfolio.

Went ahead and confirmed with an onlyfans link. Looks like Bluesky decided sex work isn't something they want seen now that they have a user base. SW and furries were a lot of the early user base because they weren't censored. Now they aren't appropriate for bsky's ai bro culture goals.

🧵 Matt Yglesias is one of the biggest reasons the Democratic Party leadership is so feckless, cowardly, and lazy. I'm not exaggerating. Yglesias is often a featured speaker at private Democratic Party events, despite almost always being wrong. Let's discuss...

A helpfully clear exchange here Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028." Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"
