Virginia protecting marriage equality, abortion, and voting rights tonight!
NEW: For over a century, Virginia has banned anyone convicted of any felony of their right to vote ***for life.*** Voters just abolished this Jim Crow-era policy. A huge result from Virginia:

Republican Jeff Van Drew has reportedly conceded to Democrat Zack Mullock in New Jersey's 2nd District, a very conservative South Jersey seat. Van Drew was elected as a Democrat but switched parties in 2019. He seemed untouchable after redistricting. x.com/wildstein/st...
This is incredible. These results are from a +17 diarrhea county.
If you are in line to get all your kids transgendered, STAY IN LINE
(Bumming everybody out, getting scolded and yelled at) Don't forget the second part of the plan where we make them do stuff
I am not going to say I told you so but we told y’all not to give up on the South.
the median voter is like “hell yeah I believe in Medicare for all. Also coal jobs, flat earth, abolishing ICE, bazooka rights, reiki”
One thing about our polling obsession is that they are really genuinely useful tools for something other than *predicting election outcomes.*. As a measure of “public opinion” as amorphous and dynamic as that is, they really do give us crucial insight. But we want them to tell the future.
My small southern town has a place to buy bagels now, and the jersey boy in me is so unbelievably happy. Even better, they don't suck!
That point of the semester where I talk about how eye witnesses suck and all my students' favorite forensic science stuff is largely junk science.
South Carolina corruption is wild, blatant, and on an incredible scale. And that's coming from someone born and raised in New Jersey.
We’re back with our second story about how Trump’s purge of the FBI killed a sweeping bribery probe in D.C. This time, we take you to South Carolina, where two powerful politicians escaped scrutiny: Sen. Lindsey Graham and Rep. James Clyburn. THREAD 👇
Any time Rutgers is in the news, it's bad but this takes the cake! The surveillance state must be destroyed.
Surveilling students AND workers. Things like this are why we at @ruaaup-aft.bsky.social put across an article in April to address surveillance, the lack of oversight or thoughtful governance in tech decision making at Rutgers. Mgmt has not responded in nearly 6mo... www.nj.com/news/2026/10...
Imagine when Flock goes under and decides to sell their data
✍️ EPIC’s Abigail Kunkler and Mayu Tobin-Miyaji wrote about the privacy issues in Spirit Airline’s attempts to sell employee data to Google for AI training. We also filed an amicus brief supporting @afacwa.org's objections to the sale; the hearing on the sale of worker data will be held tomorrow.
Benefit of having a dog that demands early morning walks is you see cool stuff like this.
"Why are you criticizing the democrats, when the republicans did this??" Here's the thing: there's no need to call out the ominous evil hole in the ground. It's an ominous evil hole in the ground. You need to call out the guy guiding travelers into the hole instead of putting a fence around it
Part (but far from all) of what's horrific here is: a woman weighing the consequences of speaking up about being sexually assaulted, because speaking up imposes burdens and costs (and so does not speaking up).
Congressional candidate is raped while repairing her campaign signs
Embarrassed, she initially didn’t want to report attack. Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office's investigation is ongoing. A Phoenix New Times exclusive.

Got to see the back end of the Flock system, including how "affiliated cameras" are integrated into the network and visible to police. Calling them ALPR's is so misleading, these systems are akin to Minority Report surveillance. They are so much more than passive recording of vehicles passing them.
The proliferation of police body cam [TikTok/YouTube/etc], the Qannon BS/pop culture trope that industrial scale child trafficking is basically happening everywhere all of the time, and every fucking cop show saying "based on real events" has absolutely cooked students' brains.
Student paper talking about my Constitution Day talk on Popular Constitutionalism and opposition to ALPR cameras. But maybe the best thing is they included my qualification on a call to action: "'Don’t buy hacksaws,' Morgan said." patriotnewsonline.com/news/2026/09...

Constitution Day talk this year about ALPR's and why we don't need the court to tell us they are unconstitutional, we can do that ourselves.
