This is a better epilogue to my January story about the private equity firm profiting off of ICE's cruelest flights than I could have ever possibly hoped for. CHICAGO: You went to the mat and protected (at a minimum!) thousands of immigrants from torture. Take a bow. prospect.org/2026/10/02/i...

The City That Brought Down an ICE Airline - The American Prospect

In Chicago, progressive alderpeople held up a contract until a private equity firm was forced to dispatch Omni Air International, protecting thousands of immigrants from deportation.

Haven't thought this out all the way through, but now would be a good time for an aggressive humanitarian movement to combat the death cults, the rise of AI, and otherwise anti-life impulses coursing through our politics and society.

My story “A Bug Screamed At Me, Yet I Must Carry On As Normal” is in this! The title pretty much explains it! You better bet I’ll let you know when the story is available online too but heck if you’ve got 3 bucks why don’t you give this a buy!

Not really sure where a bunch of liberals got the idea that they can’t win without throwing trans people in the garbage, but they’re stupid and cruel and wrong. If you want a human sacrifice so damned bad put gavin newsom in the wicker man

Earnest question, is there any easy way to mute posts that are just dunking on screenshots from Twitter/X? Otherwise, gonna keep the whack-a-mole approach going I guess.

I am sympathetic to Silicon Valley guys ascribing human-level consciousness to AI because if I had to talk to people from Silicon Valley all day I’d probably have a real low bar for sentience too

I use AI at my job everyday, it's a requirement. My account was recently reset. I'd had it set to be as impersonal and clinical and terse as I could make it. Like a word calculator. When it was set back to the stock version, I was taken aback at how sycophantic and overly familiar it is.
