Obviously, the BBC's take on the whole thing is foul - but I think it's worth pointing out just how saturated their basic framing is with transphobic lies. Top surgery does NOT 'remove breasts' so much as it reshapes the chest - including breast tissue - into a flatter, more masculine contour...

Today the @snp.org made Scotland the only UK nation without a bill to ban conversion practices. This is not good enough. If they won't stand up for our rights, we'll do it without them.

The difference in tone between these articles makes my head spin. Imagine if this article was about trans men DIYing T like this one is for cis women. No paternalistic talk, no calling the substance illegal or controlled, little focus on risk of lack of monitoring. bsky.app/profile/lyra...

A sympathetic article from the NHS talking about cis women being forced to DIY to access testosterone during menopause. The tone would not be this for trans people, I'm sure small dose testosterone can be huge for menopausal people but just the difference in framing is shocking

The journalist, Wallis, referenced here is an absolute crank and it would not be evident at all to a lay reader that he is talking about less than 200 people a year, and just read how he describes the surgeries! Absolutely disgusting.

More appalling behaviour from the BBC. ⬇️ A trans person interviewed about their horrific experience having their surgery cancelled whilst in the hospital described as 'biologically female'. And then half the article devoted to praising the work of an unemployed transphobe. 🗣️ DEFUND THE BBC 🗣️

At this stage spite is the only thing keeping me alive. I will not give transphobes the satisfaction of seeing me become a statistic.

Can we go one day without a horrible news report? Like the entire UK govenment is obsessed with wiping out trans folk and so is America. Like WTF have we done wrong?

#ConversionPracticesBan #Spain put into force accepts & enforces it is NOT the business of ANY government to list exemptions to its protecting citizen wellbeing. There can be no exceptions & the wording #Spain uses is both exquisite & unequivocally plain. Perhaps Clause 35 neutered the #SNP

Cis people! Now would be a great time to explain that trans folks are overreacting when we use the word genocide. I'm sure that would be very reassuring.
