I just made the "implied tablebottom games" joke elsewhere and then proceeded to make it my minute's work to repost other people making the joke here. I do wonder about "table" games. Floor time can be lovely, though. Ah, naming!

#1 board game pet peeve: A bad rulebook. There are so many ways to go wrong: hard to navigate, ambiguous, not enough examples or pictures, components not labeled, no index, doesn't follow the game flow. Writing a solid rulebook is a skill and an art, even for simple games, and many fall short.

When I move into a house I am just like anybody else: I like to immediately get settled in and orientate myself by drawing a map of the immediate area, themed entirely around the habits of squirrels.
