I would really love to edit a Greek myth and folklore anthology written by Greek, diaspora and BIPOC authors. If any publishers or powers that be are listening. I’m shooting my shot.

I think takes like this are deliberately muddying the waters. Using spellcheck in Scrivener is not using AI. Grammarly, otoh, is a whole other ball game and I wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot barge pole/ scrivener.tenderapp.com/help/kb/gene...

AI discourse is taking up too much oxygen (in addition to water) in writer spaces and it's bumming me right the fuck out. What is a delightful/weird/delightfully weird story you've read this year? Include read/purchase links. Get some humans paid.
Writers and editors are (mostly) on the same side. Our enemies are not each other, but the techbro billionaire fascists who stole our art and sold their plagiarism machine slop to the masses
My first ever #fantasy story, "The Troll Road," has been published by PodCastle @podcastle.org! It's a family-friendly tale involving a knight, a witch and a troll 😊 Read it at the link below (please do!) or listen to the audio version. podcastle.org/2026/06/23/p... #ShortStory #Writersky #SFF

just today I read a great flash from @cjtavares.bsky.social in @smallwondersmag.com, a great poem from Gospel Chinedu in @othersidespec.bsky.social, and a great flash from @mimulus.bsky.social in @kaleidotrope.bsky.social. and this is just one day! SFF will blow your mind every day if you let it!
I'm on staff at Reckoning, one of many mags targeted by AI nonsense, and it would be amazing if people who saw our post about this also took the time to read some of the great stuff we published. for example, here's a reprint from Reckoning X about love and birds and the ecological cost of travel

one thing that saddens me about the whole AI discourse in SFF is that people spend a lot more time discussing AI than they do reading, liking, sharing, and talking about all the great work that SFF magazines have been publishing. human-written stories should get more likes than AI takes
The subscription drive (to increase staff and contributor pay) is running until the anniversary of the magazine. We're about halfway to the goal. Thank you to everyone that has subscribed so far! clarkesworldmagazine.com/subscribe/

Periodic reminder that if you don't like writing, you don't have to do it. By which I mean find another hobby, not outsource the writing you claim to be doing.
This is a good, tough thread. A couple of things I want to comment on, as an editor: Chacha/Ogechi/Collins/etc. has FOR SURE generated and submitted way more than they've gotten away with publishing. At least 8 to PodCastle alone. 80% of the scam is using multiple IDs to run a numbers game 1/5
SFF, we need to talk. I'm not here to rag specifically on Bona, who did the right thing by going public. No, I'm looking at all of you. Or at least, 15 of you. Because this right here? This is buckwild.
Closes tomorrow at midnight ET! Don't wait, other time zones...

thrilled to announce my story “revolutions, as told by a humble rice farmer” is forthcoming in @podcastle.org! 🥹 referencing tang dynasty poetry (悯农) it asks “what if we focused on this RANDOM RICE FARMER instead of the empire??” it’s a deconstruction of fantasy, nationalism, and also v queer
Read some PodCastle submissions today and I want to say: I fucking love short fiction. Absolutely phenomenal work, keep it up, everyone!
actually i kinda *do* think using genAI should be such a social faux pas that the user is marked as a pariah and no longer feels welcome in the community. "AI is bad" is no longer an abstract (it never was), my city has been under a boil water advisory for a week because of AI data centers
