"Pronouns used to be a funny joke, Hank. Until the government tried to tell me I couldn't use them anymore. So now I'm adamant about making sure trans people are gendered right. Not for their sake. But because I'll be damned if the US government is going to tell me what words I can and can't use."

What can you do? CALL. WRITE. SCREAM. The bill is up for a vote THIS WEDNESDAY. Call your Senator. Dem. Republican. Whomever. Right now, it's a solid R bill, but they're looking for Dems to take it across the finish line. Let them know how badly it stinks. www.defendonlineprivacy.com/screen/

Just wrote the sappiest thing and had to delete but let me just say I love my little family and living with them brings me a lot of joy.

Kids on electric scooters shouldn’t be allowed unless they know how to use a fucking sidewalk, almost clotheslined a 10 year old zooming past me at like 20 goddamn mph

“I asked an LLM for advice.” GIRL it does not have a brain! It does not think! Why are you personifying it? It doesn’t give advice, it’s can’t have opinions, it’s not a person!!!

When I got my first Covid vaccine my coworker drove both of us three hours up to Wilkes-Barre to get it, and listened to the entire Little Earthquakes album, and RATM. It was snowing. It was so surreal but it’s a nice memory. She was awesome too, hope she and her family are okay.

It is not shocking that those who regarded the mere suggestion that they should stop spending money on the NYT and Potter as a deep personal affront also can't muster resistance to fascism.

I think it also revealed just how quickly a bunch of otherwise very hard problems can be to solve with global collective action. The fuckin Ganga was running clear water for the only time in my lifetime because for 2 weeks nobody threw garbage in it. The canals in Venice had fish.

Covid lockdowns demonstrated, in a deeply imperfect way, the possibility of large-scale social solidarity for a higher cause. That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.

If you believe this, and I hope you do, there is nothing stopping you from continuing to protect your vulnerable neighbors by wearing masks in crowded and indoor spaces, especially necessary spaces like healthcare facilities, grocery stores, and public transportation. Absolutely nothing.

To the cis people slurping up the non-apology from Ken Jennings: You are only revealing how much you are NOT a trans ally.

Cancel your NYT subscriptions and put the money towards something that directly supports trans people. Here's one option, if you want to support trans journalists and hard-hitting coverage like the article above:

Reminder that we published an extensive interview with a former editor at The New York Times who laid out, in detail, how the paper's pushing of anti-trans bigotry was both very intentional and directed from the very top of the organization. The NYT plays a direct and major role in trans genocide:
