The media's takeaway from an El-Sayed win is the same as it would have been from a Stevens win, and the same as it will be if El-Sayed wins the general, or if he loses it: everyone, no matter who they are, needs to take several steps to the right.

Is it possible that Mandela Barnes dropped out of the Wisconsin governor's race based on similarly flawed polling? I remember a late October 2020 ABC/Washington Post poll that had Biden up by 17 in Wisconsin. He won the state by less than a point.

Medical advances. All of them. I was told in 2006 when I went into a t1 diabetic coma that if I'd showed up to ER in state I was in 20 years before, I'd be dead. We got a COVID vaccine in a YEAR. Spouse has a friend w/a major brain aneurysm who SURVIVED. And no one smokes inside anymore!!!!!!!!!

G Elliott Morris@gelliottmorris.com · 7h agoFair enough, but the non-partisan polls of the races also did very poorly: - Emerson: El-Sayed +16 - Tavern: AES +10 - Glengariff: Stevens +7 - Mitchell: AES +14 Looks less like partisan pollsters rigging their data and more like a combination of late movement and biased samples across the board
I just don't think any of this is particularly edifying and we should have strong boundaries within politics about abuse. And doing this stuff is just not indicative of sound judgement?
Also on this, I do feel "makes AI slop videos about politics" should also be a red flag - especially when, on a quick glance, they seem to be routinely homophobic.
