there was no way to conduct a non-visual approach to this airport, and a visual approach to an airport in mountainous terrain on a moonless night is an absolutely terrible idea, that no one would entertain without some degree of get there itis/continuation bias, in this case from external pressure
Specifically that there were two approaches into the airport in question: RNAV, which should not have been in play if GPS jamming was NOTAM'd, and an ILS approach, which was only legal w/local altimeter settings......except it's a nontowered airport and the automated wx system was out of service
And now it's up to 5,000+ likes. SIGH. That second paragraph is ridiculous. The GPS being unavailable was in a NOTAM which they would have gotten on the ground. They were unable to hold an altitude which has nothing to do with GPS. All pilots must fly & land without GPS. If you can't, do not fly.
