the fuck is going on with gaming discourse look mate at a certain point I think you just gotta admit to yourself that you simply don't like this video game that's ok there's like 18 billion other ones. find something that's fun for you

Screenshot of a reddit post from the xenoblade subreddit titled "hey I'm playing xenoblade chronicles 2 nintendo switch 2 edition" including a stock key art image from the game superimposed with about 20 "did they fix the (thing)" questions implying that they do not like any single aspect of this game and have chosen to read that as a fault of the game

A lot of folks have interviewed Grant Kirkhope about the DK Rap over the years and he's had very interesting things to say! But I really wanted to talk to the guys who actually rapped it, and managed to get the "So they're finally here!" guy on a call for this:

The DK Rap is a silly, yet beloved, cornerstone of Nintendo and Rare history. It was also recorded in a stuffy hallway by the game director and a programmer who was picked because he listened to Tupac sometimes. https://kotaku.com/stuffy-silly-arhythmic-hallway-recording-original-dk-rap-2000715929

AUGUST MEDIA THREAD HWDE's not abandoned, I'm still chipping away at it in the background. Xenoblade 2 NS2E is going to be a huge chunk of my month because I love that mess of a game, and I've been working through Yoshi's Mysterious Book which is delightful, so expect to see that on this list soon.

JULY HIGHLIGHTS Good stuff this month. LWA's one of those animes I'd been meaning to watch for years but just never got around to, and it was great. Resi Requiem's in the top end of my Resi tier list. Odyssey was typically great. And any month with a rhythm heaven in it is a month to be celebrated.

Microsoft is planning to build three massive AI data centres in Leeds. It’ll drain thousands of litres of water from the River Aire and become the city's biggest carbon emitter. We can still stop the council's sign-off, but we need more voices. Add your name: you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/pr...

Stop the Microsoft AI megasite in Leeds!

JULY MEDIA (MOSTLY HWDE) THREAD Alright, so. This month is gonna be basically oops all Hyrule Warriors. I decided to finally defeat an old white whale of mine and complete this thing. It's a game I love. It's also 400+ hours long. I'm currently about 85 hours in on the current save. That's my July.

JUNE HIGHLIGHTS Yeah this really was a light month. Minishoot Adventures was an early delightfully fun time. Honestly, Backrooms is the kind of movie I enjoyed well enough but probably wouldn't be here in a busier month. Still, pretty good. And the Amy McDonald gig easily clears all else.
