if you're a normal person please do not play the fucking strip mahjong game. do not let the fun and friendly appeal of something as inoffensive as pornography trick you into playing a game as evil as mahjong

Almost any approach to giving a translation “style” will rub some people the wrong way. But turning a distinctive original text into bland mush is failing readers in a more insidious way than taking a partially-successful swing at style; the audience won't notice they’re being failed

need people to understand that "I wrote and distributed a file that tries to destroy data by exploiting a software vulnerability, but it's okay because the vulnerability is very stupid and I don't like the people who use the software" is not actually a slam-dunk legal argument

Not only is it a skill issue but "You need to work within the system and within the Party" is what the people freaking out about this have explicitly been telling critics to do for decades. I guess they didn't mean it, didn't think anyone would try, or were confident it couldn't work.

My basic view of primarying house incumbents is that if they are beatable then they have been very shitty at their jobs beyond taking some bad positions. Just didn't try, got caught sleeping. Spend 5 minutes in your district and it won't happen

it is something i hit on a lot, that of the many, many bad reasons all the internet regulation stuff is aimed at kids instead of actual companies, CEOs, the ones actually doing harm - is it's cuz kids don't have any political power and can't do shit about it. they're a 'no cost' target here.

The thing is, Mamdani's position is the only correct position for anyone who truly believes in the universality of human rights, not to mention the best framework for a durable peace. And people keep asking him like he's some sort of freak for holding it. And he keeps answering. Good for him.

It seems a good day to remind people that in the UK 3 times as many people work in Indian restaurants or for McDonalds as in the whole coal and steel industry. 5 times as many are academic staff at universities. If Labour does not understand its electorate, there is no way to appeal to it.
