DAWG WE'RE DOING STATE-RUN GAS PRICES AT PRICE CONTROLLED RATES DESPITE INCREASING SHORTAGES TO PACIFY THE PEOPLE AND THEY'RE SCREAMING ABOUT HOW THEIR OPPONENTS WANT COMMUNISM I AM GOING TO LOSE MY ENTIRE GODDAMN MIND
There’s a scene in the dystopian sci-fi movie Minority Report where Tom Cruise’s character is riding in an autonomous vehicle that gets remotely commandeered by the police to bring him into custody. The audience is supposed to see this as flagrant disregard for privacy and due process.

I was appalled that the lede of this editorial used Riley O'Neill's death to imply that he would be alive if the driver had taken a Waymo, and by extension, we are causing deaths by not allowing them to operate. www.chicagotribune.com/2026/06/28/e...
The Trib’s editorials are always gutter nonsense, but this was so bad, even by their low standards. Utterly disgusting stuff from the Trib.
The Trib editorial board using a Chicago cyclist's death to run free ad content for Waymo is both grotesque and tbh pretty on-brand.
It’s been less than a week since Riley O’Neil’s funeral and the city is actively removing protected bike lanes from 18th street. Just 2 weeks ago everyone in the city made public comments that Riley’s death was a tragedy & yet this week they’re making biking less safe

“They call it ooze, but many people are calling it beautiful, believe me. If you want to talk about ooze, talk about Barack Hussein Obama. Don’t talk to me about ooze. It’s big, beautiful, algae. They call it algae. An old fashioned word. Nobody had ever heard about algae before.”

There are 3x as many traffic fatalities as homicides in San Diego. We had to fight city hall for a month just to get half the traffic safety road design team funded at ~$1.5 M The police budget is over $700M. They do almost no traffic enforcement, now they are running us over.
Around 1:30 a.m. today, a San Diego police officer struck and killed a pedestrian, white male in his early 20s, on Linda Vista Road near USD. Make/model of patrol vehicle unclear. Officer "felt an impact on his vehicle," turned around and rendered aid, but the man died of his injuries. #VisionZero
4Chan Christian guns-and-God conservatives plotted to bomb the MMA at the White House over the Epstein Files but were foiled when one of their moms overheard an encrypted voice chat when she delivered hot pockets to the basement where her son lives. Not kidding.

The fact that Elon Musk is now one of history’s greatest mass-murderers, due to his total destruction of USAID, is still far too little-known. It’s on all of us to shout this from the rooftops. Never shut up about Elon Musk’s genocidal crimes.

Every Dem in the committee except one (Nadler) voted yes to advance the bill. 🙃
If it gets its way, the US House would drastically reduce funding for transit & rail systems. The House's proposed legislation—supported by GOP & Dems—would cut overall authorized transit funding by 15% compared to the current law, and reduce potential funding for projects like new lines by 45%.

The law is salvageable, though, if these people face punishment. They dragged my family through hell despite a jury of our peers saying repeatedly they wouldn't indict protesters. A perversion of justice like this needs to be met with real justice for the prosecutors who broke the law.
The idea that this just happened to the Broadview 6 — forcing grand juries to indict by cajoling them in an elevator, vouching to the grand jury, and telling "no" votes to leave if they don't want to indict — is nuts. It's probably happening everywhere. And it means the law as we know it is dead.
Elon Musk has the greatest job in the world. Just get blasted off your ass on ketamine, promise everyone interdimensional unicorn-based travel by 2027, and receive free money. why am I working like some kind of peasant
