I 100% have not changed a single goddamn thing about how I write here in the age of "AI." I write how I write. If the "AI" writes anything like how I write, it's because it stole from me. I'm gonna use any punctuation I like, and if it looks "AI"ish to you, you can go fuck yourself.

Authors and journalists are doing more first-person (hello 2010s blogging) and embracing "mistakes" in writing to prove they're not chatbots. There's even an “anti-Grammarly" app that leaves in typos and signs off "sent from my iPhone" to create more authenticity: www.wired.com/story/more-t...

friends, please: don’t use transreads dot org they claim to support trans authors, but take our entire texts, post them for free, fundraise off it, and have the gall to claim it’s about preservation they are literally taking money from trans creators and make it harder for us to keep creating

When this is over, and it IS speeding toward an ugly death, How will they create? Sustain? Think? They won’t be able to. All the studies already show the long term affects. They’ll burn out and be very lost. But I’ll still be here making fantastic, beautiful fucking art, and you will too.

This. & the thing is those who care SO much about our art & refuse to give into this bullshit will win out in the long run. We’re already seeing it. Remember, it’s not survival of the fittest, it’s survival of the most adaptable. & Adapting sure as hell doesn’t mean slop slurping like some think.

I think a major thing genAI has revealed is that a huge swath of creators of all sizes to not give a single FUCK about what they make, and how replaceable they think artists and editors are. They don't care about the quality or human element, or supporting other people, they just want "content"

Happy International Non-Binary People's Day! You can learn more about non-binary folk through my novels: PROUD PINK SKY is speculative fiction exploring non-binary life in the world's first gay nation. THE GIDDY DEATH is a touching story of non-binary identity in Wales. Get your copy today! 💛🤍💜🖤

We have decided to remove a short story from Issue 153 of Apex Magazine. After meeting with our reading and editorial teams, we'd like to share with you what happened, and importantly, how we plan to move forward from here. Thank you for sticking with us. 💜👽

And I've already seen the flares of anxiety from creatives who feel like they can't meet this or that burden of proof, but as someone who works with folks generating text for dayjob, they can't even remotely speak to what's in that text. Trust me: if you wrote the words, you'll know the words.

I also think their process is as good as it can get, for now. As I said in another post, AI checkers are bunk and anyone who relies on them will get as many (if not more) false positives as true. But talking to a writer? A creative? Asking them about their process? You can't generate creative joy.
