Hello friends. Nearly done with my Arrakis journey. Spent several days at a conference covering lack of snowfall on high peaks, causing drought in seven states dependent on water So I decided to explore for myself. First, a couple of large cousins of the famous Arrakis desert mouse, muad dib
Still on Arrakis. Some charismatic mega fauna thirst for water. Others spray it to warn other critters. And still others prefer their water via crunchy greens.
California has been counting its ballots slowly, but it's official: Congratulations to @villegas4congress.bsky.social in CA-22. Onward to victory in November and a Red-to-Blue pickup for this progressive #climatehawk!
Hey folk, just wrapped up Netroots Nation in Philly including an awesome climate caucus. And I want to share a 3 part framework for all the Dem Project 2029s fermenting out there. Climate or not. With Philly pix, starting with this mural made out of mirrors. Because we are all Eagles.
Voted. I understand that my vote may not count unless I take a selfie.

I came to the sad conclusion that a self-funded billionaire is my best bet against corporate money influence in elections. A friend in the nonprofit housing sector has worked with Steyer for a long time and assured me that Steyer's stated values are the values he lives by.
Ostensibly, I switched to Steyer because he hedges less on CAHSR, but he might hedge less because he is given less slack. In fact, I probably switched because of leftist independent media. Ostensibly, they opposed Porter because they have better crystal balls, and knew she would be unpopular.
An open letter to 52 percent of Katie Porter Supporters. I was one of you. I voted for Katie at the Cal Dem Party convention. I was excited about the idea of her razor sharp mind and whiteboard holding accountable the fossil fuel companies, especially the refiners and their funny math.... 🧵time
This is a good thread although needing updating in light of XB backpedaling off major climate goals
Where do California's 2026 gubernatorial candidates stand on climate? KneeDeep community reporting fellow Aayushi Akhani breaks it down in this infographic. #CaliforniaGovernor #CAGov2026 #CaliforniaPolitics #ClimatePolicy #CaliforniaClimate #BayArea #ElectionDay

Another $500,000 from Chevron to the PAC that clearly states it supports Becerra. Losing count of how much money Chevron has spent to support Becerra. They keep ratcheting up because Steyer is gaining.
Is anyone in Sacramento still doing actual journalism any more? Follow up questions, pressing for explanations? Is Becerra really proposing to re route all the high speed rail built so far???
“‘I’m going to scrap the current configuration, and I’m going to make sure we finish,’ Becerra said. ‘But we’ve got to do it on budget and on time.’” These … certainly are words. They indicate no knowledge whatsoever of the project, but they're words.
Hey folk earnestly explaining that campaigns cannot legally coordinate with SuperPACs and thus have no clue what is being done with the money spent by PG&E, Chevron, Uber, et al... let me introduce you to the concept of redboxing. Messaging directions from the candidate to the SuperPAC.
Huh. I just asked Tom Steyer the exact same question that got me tossed out of the Xavier Becerra town hall two weeks ago...and I got a substantive response. No security goons needed. "You come to the fastest warming county in the lower 48 states, do you have a climate plan?"
Same. Write it down so that we can read it.
I am once again begging, praying, weeping for lists of written instructions rather than videos. I do not want to watch your two minute video in the hope of catching the two seconds where you whizz past what goddamn menu the thing is under. Write. It. Down.
Elex in 2 weeks, native plants dried out from intense heat months ago, 🔥 burning towards me, this must be October amirite?
"I think Big Oil is choosing its governor. They are indicating very clearly which side they're on," said @rlmiller.bsky.social. "They have chosen Becerra as the person who will do their bidding."
Guess which California governor candidate is now being backed by half a million dollars from the state's biggest oil driller? Hint: It's not Tom Steyer. Lots of news in today's CLIMATE-COLORED GOGGLES: www.climatecoloredgoggles.com/p/oil-money-...
Oh look, Occidental Petroleum's spinoff is calling itself "Working Families For Puppies and Kittens for Xavier Becerra" in order to spend $500K for Becerra. Do you understand the assignment to stop the fossil fuel takeover, California voters?
Just in case y'all haven't been paying attn... Cal Resources Corp, a spinoff of Occidental Petroleum, just dropped $500k in favor of Xavier Becerra
Listening to the iconic Dolores Huerta give a spirited endorsement of Chis Espinosa in CA-26. We need a fighter, not a corporate Democrat!
At a League of Women Voters candidate forum for CA-26. Rep. Julia Brownley has retired so we have an open seat in a blue district, Ventura County, CA. 4 Dems, 3 Repubs on debate stage. I support Chris Espinosa.
We disrupted Xavier Becerra. Again. This time with Youth Climate Strike LA and Climate Hawks Vote at his 'Fighting for the California Dream' tour stop in Oxnard, in the middle of farmworker country — where the heat literally kills human beings in the fields every summer.
