The real issue is the last sentence: "they pay attention to crucial endorsements." If Black voters are like all voters and aren't familiar with the actual platforms, there's no need to single Black voters out.

This shift to computerized state tests was made possible by schools' adoption of one-to-one devices. Which mostly happened with Covid. And yet, we rarely discuss the possibility that computerizing tests--without first teaching computing skills--might've contributed to subsequent test score declines.

When I was elected as clerk of the charter commission 23 years ago, I was the youngest person there. I was finishing my dissertation. As an ethnographer, I knew how to write notes. Still, I felt a bit meh abt it. A friend reminded me that the clerks write the history. I wrote the minutes 👍

I like this notetaking example. it is a good case of how gender works. Notetaking has never been about producing a transcript. It is a bureaucratic skill in the 20th c. organixarion because it is SENSEMAKING. Those women socialized to take notes? They have been doing men’s metacognition for them

Further interesting scenario is human recollection / notes (taken by habit by a person) conflict with AI summary

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time.
