Blogging, podcasts, and wikipedia were never considered the equivalent of slop in the pre-AI. They were often low prestige forms of writing with less quality control than big publications, but nobody thought they were thoughtlessly mass produced. They were/are the labors of individual creators.

Nobody likes Ticketmaster prices, but nobody wants to be killed by aliens invading from Alpha Centauri. That's what's at stake here.

Anthropic Is building a surveillance system to monitor activists using a “pre-crime” approach that tries to predict incidents before they happen. The extensive monitoring system that the AI company is building is aimed primarily at keeping tabs on activists who oppose the rapid development of AI.
