For the past five months the only refugees the USA has accepted are white South Africans fleeing equality & safety meanwhile they are disappearing or strapping ankle monitors on any Haitian they can get ahold of. It needs to be understood how thoroughly connected these two things are.

Partly. But they are also the spiritual descendants of liberals (or are those liberals in the case of the oldest ones) who wanted the dirty effing hippies out of the party in the 60s, then never forgave them for being right about Vietnam.

I have a theory that a big chunk of the socialist fear mongering by liberals is really about the fact that it’s perceived as a youth movement and godforbid the young exert political power

Bluesky is a "liberal bubble" because fascist chuds can't get traction without algorithmic assistance and because people here trained themselves to block "debate me" trybois the instant they roll up

Democrats Are Pulling Away in the Generic Ballot. So Elon’s Trying to Buy Another Election. American fascism isn’t a mystery about human nature or a vibe that showed up out of nowhere. It begins as a campaign finance story.

"A concentration camp, in its most basic definition, is a place where a targeted civilian population, not necessarily accused of a crime, is detained and at least some of their basic rights are suspended," writes @jwashing.bsky.social. "That’s precisely what’s happening in the United States today."

Don’t call them ICE detention centers. Call them camps | John Washington
