JK Rowling got a full *decade* of press as a martyr for being "cancelled" (declared passe by people online) and meanwhile nobody considers it very interesting that a prominent left wing author is basically banned from entering or publishing in the United Kingdom for her politics

The journalistic malpractice is, at this point, quite astonishing. How can any of these newsreaders say these things with a straight face?

This is not just a shocking statistic. It is the lived reality of women across Britain. Each number represents a life lost, a family broken, a community grieving. When we hear this, our anger should be directed where it belongs - at the systems that fail to keep women safe - not at trans people.
I have been able to regain access to my necessary medication (and thankfully was able to avoid going without during my fight for it). But I know many people who are having the exact same fight right now. Including people who've been settled on hormones even longer than I.
If you think that the current state of trans healthcare in the UK is because of concern or caution, I'd encourage you to think again. It's not medically informed, it's a reactionary response to transphobic bigotry whipped up into a frenzy over the past few years. And it costs lives.
There is simply no medical reason to take a person, cold-turkey, off of a medication they've been stable on for almost a decade, with no offer of anything else - and when the lack of that medication causes irreversible lifelong issues up to and including death.
Norwegian encyclopaedia Store norske leksikon complaining that AI summaries cite them as reference but info doesn’t always coincide. Most worryingly where the AI summary says a particular mushroom isn’t poisonous if you cook it long enough, citing their article which says that’s an old wives’ tale.
