Moth mural is happening now!! So excited to see this project come to life oh. my. GOD.

a cercropia moth has been painted in, the luna moth not yet, on a park building in a city park

Well, would you look at that! The owner of the Last Ditch bar is saying that the accusations against Noire in that Boston Globe article weren't true. He never called for the bar to be "firebombed." The clear purpose of the hit piece was to cause problems for queer and disabled people.

Tumblr post from lastditchbar: Our community should expect more details in the future. Today we need to address the safety of the community itself. Stop harassing Soe Noire. It is neither productive, progressive, nor valiant to attack and harass a black patron. He has been a collaborator and performer of Last Ditch for a while, and he deserves to speak his mind about accountability and repair from the bar. There are so many misconceptions due to the disorganization of the Globe's article. He did not call for a shutdown, nor did he call for the bar to be firebombed. Further, he did not disparage the owner for being homeless. As a result of this abysmal journalism, Soe has been getting additional threats, slurs, and harassment, and he is being reported to the police over something he did not do. This is not supporting us at Last Ditch, and it is at its core, anti-blackness hysteria.

And if you got this far as a cis women, and you're like "yeah, this is basically a wide-scale abusive system," please just take a second and imagine that trans people, who are trying to opt out, are committing the single most dangerous thing you can do in an abusive system: escape.

I genuinely want men to read this and sit with it. Please consider your own past behavior, that of your friends, your sons. Ever suggest a drinking game with hope in your heart? Kept a hand on a knee when she turned away? Complained about a "starfish" who just shut down like she'd gone catatonic?

they anonymously polled 2,689 american and canadian men (18-34 y/o) and 95.1% self reported having used coercion to try to assault women - not just at all, but recently 65% of these incidents ended in a sexual encounter. a sexual encounter that is initiated through coercion is called what, friends?

Living in rural California is interesting because sometimes you meet your new neighbor and she's a trans lesbian and other times you meet a different neighbor and they're like "and here's my son, Skeet."

I am dying for the next episodes of Ghost Kitchen/Killer Dinner. The killers are doing a fantastic job (so proud of them), but the remaining guests are working overtime to make it even easier. Kelsey is objectively the funniest choice for resurrection at this point so fingers crossed.

On that note the real scandal about David Cameron and the pig wasn't so much the idea of putting your junk in a pig's mouth, but the fact that it was part of initiation into an organization where they'll maintain omerta on your behalf should you commit a massive scandal.

It seems to me that American fraternities have completely replicated the chief purpose of all-men's clubs with ritualistic entry processes throughout the ages, which is mostly covering for each other's criminality.

Starting the prologue of A Night in the Lonesome October tonight and then the book proper tomorrow. This and Hogfather for December are two of my favorite book traditions. "I am a watchdog. My name is Snuff."

The thing about bears is I can actually tell which ones are dangerous by looking at them and this isn't the case with men. I know a black bear is very unlikely to even bother me and is timid, having chased one out of my house with my 8lbs cat. I can never be sure of threat level with a man.

y'all if you get mad about women saying "choose the bear" please look up bear assault and murder statistics and then contrast with human men. It is objectively reasonable to choose the bear.

"what's a girl doing at a frat at 2am. we all know what happens there" This sounds more like an argument for abolishing fraternities than defending the perpetrators, my guy. If that's how you see frats, then you don't leave a safety hazard like that lying around unless you want to feed people to it

I don't believe that every trans person in America should immediately be made aware of every single evil bill introduced by some podunk state rep in a random red state they don't live in I don't think that's healthy. I have always needed to see a likelihood of advancement before I would write it up

Currently braving the Anthropic settlement call line on behalf of all self-published cowriters and y'all. 😂 These ladies are very nice but this system is a HOT STEAMING MESS and we are all due restitution for the stress

Bruce is throwing a fit and attempting to fight everyone and everything because Skye is in the One Good Box in the entire house and he cannot possibly be expected to nap in a cat tree, bed, basket, or different box.

I would like to stop feeling like I'm actually dying. Being able to breathe and stand without it feeling like my ribcage and pelvis are collapsing and crushing my spine would also be good. The fact that I'm as athletic as I am and yet the hEDS still causes me pain confuses doctors absurdly often.
