Throwing billions in public money behind a pipeline at a time of climate breakdown – while sweeping aside environmental protections, meaningful Indigenous consultation and workers’ right to strike – is absolutely not in the national interest.

I feel like there's a cohort of us who got on the internet before "social media" and made all sorts of healthy friendships through forums or livejournal or what have you and thus, while everyone's like SOCIAL MEDIA FUELS COMPARISON AND MISERY we're like, but that's just where my friends live.

Without the online friends I’ve made over the years, some of whom have become offline friends (even recently!), I would be a much, much lonelier person. Social media feels evil sometimes, but it makes some miracles too.

I keep coming back to the point that I’m getting tired of sharing the things I write. I like writing a lot more than I do actually posting it. …then I write something and post it lmao. I’m like. Chasing my own tail, here. 🥲

This news is important because all the fucks out there actively attempting to wreck the world want you to think that the work is hopeless and just mitigating the worst case scenario. It's not. Fucking keep going.

We now have rigorous pooled data showing that even without active restoration efforts, cleared rainforest can rebound to 75% of their former species composition and 90% of species diversity within just thirty years. #goodnews

By taxing the richest 0.3% of Canadians, some 133,000 people, we could raise $1 billion per year to go towards fixing our broken healthcare system, building affordable housing, or creating a national public grocery network to drive down the cost of groceries. No selling of our airports required.

A new PBO report confirms adding new tax brackets for the wealthiest 0.3% would raise over $1 billion a year. Instead of selling off Canada’s strategic public assets like airports, we should be asking those who have benefited most from our society to contribute their fair share.

We need more working-class people in politics at all levels. And working class no longer means white guys who work trades and drive pick-up trucks. The working class is women, immigrants, and young people working the gig economy. We also need more working-class journalists, by the way.

The changes to the Canada Labour Code in this new bill are “without precedent in Canadian law and they’re without precedent even amongst our trading partners in the G7.” “It provides the complete and unlimited discretion to the federal minister to decide who gets to go on strike and who does not.”

Finished Three Hopes just before Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave came out, and was struck by the desire to draw Claude in one of his most affecting moments from the game.

Fire Emblem Three Hopes Fanart: Claude crouched holding his bow Failnaught atop a hill in Ailell, a volcanic valley, overlooking others fighting in the blurred distance: Dimitri, Seteth, Edelgard, and Shez.

“is it true ao3 authors appreciate comments” is one of the wildest sentences i’ve ever read. is it true people like receiving feedback on their work? being told they did a good job? experiencing human connection?
