sorry, but torturing the omelas kid is just a smart move, polling-wise. i personally wish there wasn't a kid in the omelas hole--of course i do!--but let's not get distracted by purity tests, here.

I vastly underestimated how evil a large portion of this country is, and that includes the people who are willing to throw minority groups to the wolves to ensure that their own comfort isn't disturbed.

I'd even up that a couple of notches to "why would I want to know about kids' genitals, the fuck is wrong with you?" as an easy thing to say.
