oh my god, I'm just going to say: Conversations with Anne Rice by Michael Riley is the one I recommend, read it, it's incredible, holy shit.
See, if Anne Rice was a writer on those movies, we'd get the reveal that cheerleading was created by evil aliens to subjugate humanity, which as we are both aware, that franchise can already naturally incorporate whenever they bring Bucky back from his adventures in space.
The framing device for this season is failure; artistic courage and risk even when the outcome isn’t clear. I think we’re still in the fog of what this adaptation will eventually become. Which makes me very anxious about a season 4. It’s a long time to wait, and a lot to not know. Alas.
I did make my (now annual) pilgrimage to Lestat’s to close out sdcc. I don’t know why this place exists in San Diego of all places and why none of the theme actually leans into the Lestat of it all when it’s named what it is and is described as “inspired by the French Quarter in NOLA” but I love it😂

These books mean so much to me. They literally saved my life a few times over and they've helped me, a neurodivergent queer who sucks at making friends, find community. And it's just a bummer to see them adapted in a way that keeps chipping away at the stories the books were telling.
