I just typed the sentence "Ryan Gosling is the new Onceler" and I hate everything in my life that made that sentence come to fruition.

Watching the end of Black Sails with the friend I've introduced it to and she's SAT. Absolutely RIVETED.
Currently soul-searching to find out where I am on the "am I Principled or just an Uncompromising Bitch?" spectrum.
I am, perhaps, too flippantly caustic when I'm on A Tear about something. I keep relearning this like it's brand new BUT IT'S NOT. It's probably led to all of my biggest regrets. Something to keep working on...
Still HEATED about the board game mechanic for my girl Dee in the BSG board game expansion. THE DISRESPECT. THE GALL.
👇 "The vast majority of people who work in film and television are not studio executives, nor are they famous actors. They are, overwhelmingly, blue-collar workers, freelancers, and small businesses. And they are in free fall." Yes.
People think "Hollywood" is rich and famous. The reality? Film and TV is a national industry. It's a blue collar industry. And it is an industry free fall. My latest for @newrepublic.com on how the Paramount merger would crush blue collar workers who can not afford it newrepublic.com/article/2136...
Okay this tag made me actually lol: "I won't say the dove is dead here but it has called out sick from work."
Yep. Your book table at a local event has an AI sign? You probably used it to write the book. Your food truck has an AI art banner? Going to assume your food is slop too. If you make a thing with your hands and brain, don't advertise it using the thing that means you didn't want to use either.
I want companies to understand that when I see an AI flier, my brain instantly deletes it. I don't think, "Ooh, I should go to this event!" I rush past it like it's a pile of dog poop. Same for ads with AI models. I assume that if your marketing is cheap garbage, so is your product.

This is the only review of Nolan’s Odyssey that I care about. It was worth the wait. 😎🍿 “An Uncomplicated Man by Emily Wilson”
Emily Wilson · An Uncomplicated Man
As they say at the awards shows, I was humbled to learn that Christopher Nolan has read at least the first line of my...

“Political movements need community, which means that they need signaling. It’s true that bad actors can use elaborate declarations of virtue to obscure their own wrongdoing, and you want to watch out for that. But knee-jerk accusations of hypocrisy and bad faith can also be corrosive.”
The Virtues of Performing Progressivism
Freddie deBoer wants to let you know he’s virtuous—and that’s okay.

The term virtue signaling is a reflection of people who cannot understand that others have principles rather than just bad faith positions, which is all they are familiar with. They are so used to not saying what they believe they think everyone else does it too.

Getting waterboarded by septic tank juice in Hell, hopefully.
Where is Mitch McConnell?
I wish The Umbrella Video had a split screen or picture-in-picture so I could just watch Zendaya's reaction the whole way through.
I love how most of the PHM fandom can tell that Eva Stratt was put in an impossible position to make an impossible choice that made her seem cruel and heartless even though it broke her goddamn heart. Now do this for all the female characters you hate, fandom.
Started writing a story thinking "oh, I'll draw on my own personal complicated feelings about my family" and THAT was a bad idea. It even crept into my dreams last night... I need more therapy before I write this, whoof.
There have only been a couple dozen films in history that have made a billion dollars. If your business model depends on every film making a billion dollars, that’s not a good business model
Wife, in response to me reblogging yet ANOTHER PHM gifset: ...you keep reblogging that sad man!!
Watching Clone Wars and thinking about how JJ Abrams wanted Star Wars so bad he fucked up three Trek films for it and what he then came up with was Rise of Skywalker
If you want people to react to Steve have you considered... lighting or styling him in a way one could reasonably identify as Steve? No? Okay, cool, just wondering.
I mean, of COURSE I put it on. How could I not? Anyway: Carrie Fisher with a rocket launcher > most people/places/things
Any time I so much as glance at a mall of a certain size, I wish I had a decommissioned police car and a lack of consideration for the safety and property of others bordering on the complete because the Blues Brothers automotive rampage just looks beyond satisfying to do.
Introducing a friend to Babylon 5 and we're on s4 and it's so delightful to just rag on Garibaldi EVEN THOUGH I already know his whole deal lol
friends, please: don’t use transreads dot org they claim to support trans authors, but take our entire texts, post them for free, fundraise off it, and have the gall to claim it’s about preservation they are literally taking money from trans creators and make it harder for us to keep creating
