Woke up too early, then remembered that the 5:33 a.m. launch of a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral offered good chances for "space jellyfish" viewing. So glad I stepped outside for that--the second stage's exhaust, backlit by the sun in the upper atmosphere, looked like a giant comet down here.

The Trump administration says it's unleashing a new wave of sanctions against Iran and entities that trade with it. But sanctions expert Nicholas Mulder says the escalation is largely "rhetorical" since "there are relatively few sanctions that the United States can take that directly affect Iran."
