Very much this. There is too much excusing of people as 'being paid to hold these populist & neo-Nazi beliefs' [often allegedly by Russians]. It's utter nonsense – they really do believe this stuff. It's high time we (collectively) accepted that.

🎉 Congratulations to everyone receiving their A-Level, BTEC and T-Level results today. You should be incredibly proud of all your hard work and dedication! Well done 🙂 To get info and support see below👇️ #ResultsDay

Playing tennis today with a group I don't know well and we started talking about small boats and there's just so many misconceptions (like they get normal benefits, that they can work if they want etc...) These were smart professional people who read the news.

Best job was doing IT for the NHS. The money was excellent, the job environment was centred around a commitment to provide quality service and data security, and everything ultimately centred on patients. The NHS has problems, but they are not problems that will be solved by outsourcing IT.

Obviously anecdotes are not representative data - but feeling curious: What was the best and the worst job you had? Pls tell me sector (public/private/charity-NGO/academia/other?) and size (small /medium /large organisation).

The second high streets announcement from the new administration, alongside business rates cut for pubs, clubs and music venues. Suggests growing recognition that policy needs to shift us away from retail-dominated model. But this must be start of something bigger.
