Galactic Racer feels like it draws not just from Burnout but from the fast, hard, technically stunning tradition of British game development. There’s a certain kind of game that we’ve always done very well in the UK, the product of a generation of devs raised on Arcade shooters and the MegaDrive.

Galactic Racer is fantastic but I am so so bad at it. Part of it is that I find the tracks a bit hard to read - there’s not enough contest between “pile of junk” and “pile of junk with a hole carved in it” for me to be able to parse where I should be in the split second I have to make that call.

Reading the Kotaku story about the Wing Commander III remaster and - beyond some kinda obvious typos - it really surprises me that they don’t mention that Jim was also the driving force behind the excellent Command & Conquer remaster of a few years back.

Watching Ken Sim and his ABC party suggest that Sean Orr is against women’s voting rights is perhaps the lowest low I’ve ever witnessed in Vancouver campaign politics as of late. I’m so angered and frustrated by the extreme deceit and contempt ABC holds for the average citizen. Please vote.

A post from ABC Vancouver that spews lies, says:

“Pete Fry has made a political deal with Sean Orr and COPE in his effort to become Mayor of Vancouver.

Sean Orr, who is part of this political coalition, has repeatedly shared controversial material online, including material containing racial slurs, opposition to women voting and anti-Muslim content.

Does Pete Fry think this is acceptable from someone he has chosen to politically align himself with?

Is this the kind of discourse Pete Fry accepts from the people and parties he has chosen to work with?

Pete Fry knows who Sean Orr is. He knows who COPE is. And he has made the decision to align with them politically.

Vancouverites can look at that decision and decide for themselves what it says about Pete Fry’s judgment.”
